And starts getting national attention. Suppose that investigations take place and it is found that Bush and his administration did in fact know about the attacks in advance, but still decided to let them happen for the political gain.
What then?
I think that a lot of your more hardcore wingnuts (especially the FReepers will do one of two things):
Deny it
or
Justify it
Think about it. Despite all of the evidence about Watergate, there are still fanatics out there who say that it was a setup by the liberals, and that there was never any wrongdoing. You know, people that worship G Gordon Liddy.
Then again, some people are so sick that they won't care. I have a feeling that a lot of these pro-war assholes holding "Never Forget" signs will find a way to rationalize it, and even support it.
They will discuss how its bad that the attack happened, but we need to move on. They will talk about how good it was because it showed us that terrorism is a real threat, and one attack killing 3,000 is a small price to pay considering all the lives Bush is saving with the war on terror.
Any thoughts?
