"I won't vote for Bush again................................."
This article refers to voters in *'s "stronghold -- Ohio.

The sheep are slowly waking up.

"I won't vote for Bush again," said Penny Fox, 47, who opened Fox's Antiques and Such off Main Street in May but kept her part-time job at Kmart just in case. "He just came on too powerful, too gung-ho, too cocky."

Like many in Xenia, Fox backed the war at first. But now she is suspicious because no weapons of mass destruction have been found, and she is disturbed by the stream of body bags coming home — more since Bush declared the major combat over.

Just about everyone here knows of a soldier overseas. The City of Xenia paid $300,000 in overtime to plug vacancies from employees called to reserve service. Eighteen photos of soldiers in Iraq hang in the lobby of the Xenia Daily Gazette.

1. Thanks Catwoman...
I really think stuff like this will become more and more common. The tide seems to have turned lately - Bush is no longer getting a free ride, and people are realizing what's really going on.

Six months ago I despaired of even winning the White House back. Now I dream of regaining the House, and maybe the Senate.

5. Closer to home...............
for me anyway, my mother, who has never voted for anybody but a Republican in her 82 years, has vowed to vote for any Democrat over Bush. She can't stand to see or hear him, calls him an idiot and a bald faced liar. Of course I've been doing my part to stoke the fires of discontent within her. I'm the only progressive in the entire family, both sides. I was always looked upon as the black sheep, now my patience is beginning to pay dividends.

I know two people who live rather near there who are strongly anti-war and will not vote for Bush. They voted for Gore in '4, though, so it isn't a change.

11. Slight error up there:
Bush didn't declare major combat over, he declared it over period.

But, in his "I am right and always have been" manner, more reminiscent of the way things were done in the Soviet Union than here, the qualification of "major combat" was slipped in to the White House lexicon without comment.
