great website ...

it has always bothered me that centrists seem to believe that independents are moderates ...

my belief is that independents encompass all segments of the political spectrum ... in fact, i think most who consider themselves independents are not "torn between republicans on the right and democrats on the left" ... i think they are more likely to disdain the abuse of electoral politics by both parties ...

if democrats want to appeal to this very large voting block, they need to clearly state what they stand for and stay clear of political posturing ... some democrats are doing this very well; some are not ...

That's exactly why I'm an Independent! I have never and will never find anything in the Repuke platform even remotely acceptable, but I cannot reconcile many actions of the Democratic party as well.
