I'm Calling for Tim Russert's Resignation
Edited on Thu Sep-18-03 11:09 AM by lunabush
So, on a Sunday talk show Cheney made at least two comments that appear to have hastened his political demise (time will tell).

He said words to the effect that support 70% of Americans' view that Saddam was involved in S-11.

He flat out lied that he did not receive compensation from his "former" employer Halliburton.

Russert, a seasoned "journalist" failed to question him in a manner that cast sufficient doubt on his statements.

Our very own dunce of a pResident had to call out Cheney (for whatever mysterious reason to be revealed sometime soon - see dozens fo threads for DU speculation) on his Saddam comments.

:wtf:

Seems to me that is Russert's job. This is perhaps one of the most gross displays of (mis)administration asskissing I have seen to date.

When I locate email addresses for CNBC and all the other alphabet soup he is employed by I will post here and hope you join me. In the meantime, feel free to tell me why my call for his resignation is wrong.

1. Good Luck, but Russert is a Republican
They seem to be able to keep their jobs in tough economic times.

Russert is the worst because people believe he's unbiased, but even a cursory glance at how he treats Dems v Repukes it's clear he isn't.

2. So type up a letter listing Russert's crimes, post it,...
and provide a link to NBC, so we can copy it, sign it, and send it.

I'm willing, and waiting....

this is just such a blatant example - either that or Bush's statements, along with Condi and Rummy's are full of shit - which or both?

4. You'll have better luck trying to ban rain on Sunday
Fat Tim the slug fits right in with the network that owns MS-RNC. He's carrying the water the way they like it.

6. And don't forget
Cheney also said OBL was using Iraq as a base of operation. Maybe he couldn't find Afghanistan on a map.

7. Mention that Russert fed Cheney the answer to a question...

Russert deserves a website detailing his bias.

The recent Beat The Press interview of Cheney on September 14 of 2003 was particularly frustrating.

The transcript can be found at the following site...

http://www.msnbc.com/news/966470.asp

Make sure you mention the exchange in which Russert fed Cheney the answer to his question...

MR. RUSSERT: Reconstituted nuclear weapons. You misspoke.

VICE PRES. CHENEY: Yeah. I did misspeak. I said repeatedly during the show weapons capability. We never had any evidence that he had acquired a nuclear weapon.

What is the point of asking tough questions if the interviewer answers them?

10. Excellent stuff
thanks all, I will work on a letter later in the PM and repost. Anyone with address links would you be so kind to post? I've seen them here before, wish I woulda snagged them.

I realize there is no chance in Crawford that anything will come of it, but think of it as viral marketing - steady chinks in the armor, waves pounding a beach, someday it'll wear away at this evil fucking empire.
