They're really not mystery at all. Just go to http://www.meetclark.com/faq/index.asp

1. I went straight to Economy and Jobs
and was disgusted. Extraordinarily hollow positions like "I don't like this" and "I don't like that", and "we need to fix it".

Uhu...

Not to mention that his idea for Trade is to open our borders for more free trade... No thanks..

2. Yadda yadda
I'm not a Clark or Dean or anyone else man. My position is anyone who can beat Bush.

5. Relax
I'm sure he'll come out with more detailed position papers in the next few weeks. The MeetClark FAQ, while useful, is just cullings from his speeches and writings. They're not intended to be formal position papers or detailed policy proposals.

4. Not about the content ...
But if you're involved in the programming of the site, RATM, or know somebody who is, you/they should know that the Java environment doesn't work with Mozilla 1.5 Beta, or my old Netscape 4.7 (which I keep to check my personal web stuff, since lots of people don't have the latest and greatest build of MSIE). I don't have a current version of Netscape to check it with, but I suspect it's an error with the Java Environment -- one of the other candidates had a similar problem with their campaign site, early on, too. I think they fixed it, because I didn't hear any more complaints about it. May have been Gephardt.

I don't know if it works with Opera, because I had problems with Opera on my machine, conflicting with another program. I do know lots of people here on DU use browsers other than post-5.0 builds of MSIE -- I'm far from the only one. Many of the people Clark wants to reach probably are Internet savvy enough to be using something other than MSIE, they may want to check it through some of the other browsers.

While the candidate's web site functionality isn't going to make or break my decision in the long run, it certainly might be enough to prevent someone other than me from having access to this material.

6. That is a good point
I the meetclark.com site is by a supporter. I know it isn't the candidate's official web site - that one is http://www.americansforclark.com/. That's where I'm waiting to see the layout of Clark's positions -- right now, to be honest, there are more soundbites than real policy statements.

7. Why
Are Clarks positions not listed on his main webpage?

http://americansforclark.com/

Every other Dem candidate has an "issues" link that spells out their positions on a variety of issues, even Lieberman. This is a glaring omission IMO. Maybe he is still trying to decide what his positions are?

8. He's Admitted As Much
He's said that in a couple of weeks, he'd be releasing a comprehensive plan on the economy.

9. Two glaring omissions
Positions on health care and affordable housing.

These are two of the biggest issues affecting ordinary Americans.

I'm a long-time poster and not an "out of the woodwork" Clark-slammer, but having had a minor government-linked position back in Portland, I'm concerned that Clark has only vague notions and no concrete ideas, and certainly no details. One thing I learned when working on pedestrian issues in Portland is that having a vision is essential, but it's not enough, because what people in politics do day in and day out is work out details and negotiate details with other interest groups.

It bothers me that here he has been dithering for weeks about whether to run for president or not, and he has not yet worked out any positions on either health care or affordable housing.

10. my nagging feeling is we really don't know this guy yet.
I did go with my guts on Dean early on and still feel
like he's a straight shooter. I am not feeling that
with Clark yet.
