Yet another game of words

Every week, George Stephanopoulos ends his show with a list of US soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan.

In the past, he would say, "(x number) of soldiers were killed this week, the Pentagon has released (x number) of their names."

Lately, this has changed. Now, he says "The Pentagon has released the names of (x number) of soldiers killed this week".

I guess someone sent him a memo that if the names aren't released, we shouldn't count them.

1. But then are they ever counted on the show? That would mean next

week they aren't mentioned. Scratch off a couple names here and couple names there and pretty soon no one is dying in Iraq. I wonder when someone is going to do some real math and find out there are 6,000-8,000 soldiers dead because of this stupid invaison.

2. I've wondered the same

If the names weren't released that week, do they go into next week's list? Oh well, not a problem anymore, since they will now only mentioned the released name count.
