Murtha on Hardball: "I made a mistake" (IWR)
Edited on Thu Sep-18-03 06:35 PM by Amerikav60
"Someone has to be held accountable".

He also said, regarding his war vote, "I made a mistake"

Damn, if that isn't refreshing!

1. You should have heard him
at the press conference he did. He's calling for W to make some heads roll in his misadministration. Looks like another spike in W's coffin.

18. For Bush to make some heads roll?
His head should be # 1...he's the idiot who LIED to each and everyone worldwide..No wonder he looked a bit sickly today!! He knows he's screwed, and you can bet your bottom dollar that he's thinking of a way to screw everyone again because there's no way he's going to away with soap-on-the-rope along with the bunch of his cronies and pops. I don't trust any of them! His favorite term was "evil-doers"--well, he was telling us to our faces..and don't forget his famous right arm up in the air! He's telling everyone, but most of the public aren't really paying attention to what he's really saying and doing!

5. Raymond Tanner, served in the Reagan administration
I guess all Repubs got the memo on how to answer the question about whether Saddam was linked to 9-11. "No, of course I didn't think they were linked." :eyes:

7. Tanner: "not finding WMDs in Iraq is like a doctor not finding cancer.....
when they operate. You should be happy about that." ... I guess that's what we're going to be hearing from now on from republicans.

11. We are - remember, we were the ones
(according to the right wingers) who were secretly and gleefully awaiting the moment Saddam unleashed his nuclear (whoops, nukular), biological, and chemical weapons upon our courageous soldiers.

They're still courageous, but thankfully untouched by those three weapons. Now, if we could get them out of the line of fire . . .

4. I wish Kerry would say this ("I made a mistake")
it would help him a lot. And please let no one take this as an oppourtunity to start another candidate roast.

6. I agree
He should. Definitely. There is no shame in admitting you messed up especially if you made the decision according to a lie your boss laid out in front of you and the whole world. I should say LIES, not lie. Kerry is a respectable man, in the first place, so why not come out?

8. Well, he has just catapulted himself
To the top tier of Dems with spines with that.

I'd never heard of him before, and someone here said he's a very conservative Dem? I put him right up there with Robert Byrd in the character and integrity category.

10. Murtha is the congressman from Johnstown, PA.
I remember him because before he was a congressman, he spoke in favor of the Vietnam War to an assembly at our Jr. HS in 1967. If Bush loses the Murthas of the Congress, he loses the "Reagan Democrats". And that means he should lose a fair election in a landslide. Should if the votes are counted.

9. Don't hold your breath
expecting Kerry to dig himself out of that hole. What a shame.

Oh well, maybe Murtha will get the ball rolling.

14. WELL THANK YA
none of us think people cannot make mistakes. But making excuses instead of just saying I WAS WRONG really sucks.

17. There's no shame in being lied to
It amazes me when people (like this bow-tie guy) says, in effect, well why did you believe us then? Hello????
