I will be relieved if the primary season ends up with Clark and Dean as the only two Democratic candidates still standing.

God forbid we ever have to face the moral and ethical dilemma of voting for one of the warmongering Democratic candidates that voted in support of Bush's invasion of Iraq, and continue to support the American occupation of Iraq, as well as Israel's occupation of Palestinian lands.

I will have no qualms whatsoever supporting Clark if he becomes the Democratic nominee.

BTW, I support Dean for President.

Because I believe he is good and decent candidate who has worked hard for the admiration and respect the base has for him. And because I recognise that Clark is little more than a construction to block Dean because the party insiders are terrified that he will rock their world and return the party to the people who it is supposed to represent instead of elite special interests.

All of the candidates who have worked and weathered the storm I respect and I will not be swayed by some artificial image projected by massive astroturf efforts to convince all to rally around a blank slate.

I have only spent approximately 30-40 hours per week for the past 2 months volunteering for the Dean side.

It's been an amazing two months. In the meantime, Dean has single-handedly brought all other candidates to his issues throughout the summer, culminating in the debates.

I heard it was great.

I think Dean has raised the energy level in this race considerably. He was the first to really tap into the residual anger among Dems like me who will never forgive that schmuck from Texas for 2000. He validated and vindicated us. And we'll see how much more he's got. It would be great if he went the distance. I'm rooting for him.

NYT column today on Clark http://www.nytimes.com/2003/09/19/opinion/19HERB.html?th reads like a classic NYT spin, pretending to be appropriately questioning of one individual but devoting most of the space to tearing down the opposition.

To the "liberal" NYT, the democratic field of candidates is now described as "stagnant"; Clark is 'almost perfect on paper'; and of course, Howard Dean is angry and seems ready for a headlock on the president?? They get the chance for more personality plugs -- Clark is "more personable than John Kerry, more mature than John Edwards, more telegenic than Joe Lieberman".. I expect to see many more like this coming from the major media.

It's all about personality to the 'liberal' media, because God forbid they should focus on where a candidate's MONEY (or elite support) is coming from.

Lawyer friends in DC tell me the town has been abuzz with a slightly disdainful, fearful phrase "who's Dean??" That kind of makes me feel better about him...

I will be interested to read New York Magazine's interview. The man that wrote it said he spent hours with Clark. He came away saying that the depth and breadth of Clark's knowledge of the issues amazed him.

Also, he has spoken and I have heard him with my own ears saying that Iraq is not a legal war.

The quote goes on..."That having been said, I was against the war as it emerged because there was no reason to start it when we did."

BTW, how did they manage to find a bad picture of Clark to put with that article...I ain't never seen one before.

It's a tie because nobody has seen Clark in a debate yet. He might turn out to be greqat, or he might turn out to be a real dud. Too early to tell.

They have been under the pressure of the debates, the scrutiny, the criticism.

We all knew Clark was going to get into the race,but he kept putting it off and putting it off. He would appear on tv to announce that he might announce. He did not have to undergo the pressure that the others have had to put up with.

He is the candidate of the powers that be. That should not matter in our country, but I greatly fear it does. Edwards was sidetracked on his announcement.

Clark may or may not come to the debate. If he is a candidate, he should be at the debate. There is no question......Yahoo says he backed out already. That is just wrong.

We will support Dean, and we have grown to love Edwards since Clark overshadowed him. As to the final voting, I have a feeling that we will be handed our candidate, and it will be Clark. And don't say they can't choose our candidate for us.....of course they can. Read Al From's article just up at MSNBC. Note who is Clark NY campaign manager. Note who called him a star of the Democratic Party while all the while Clark was saying he did not know what he was.

This board was overrun a little while ago by people who did nothing but attack Dean and the other candidates. They were for Clark, and they attacked. Few of the other candidates' supporters were ever that much in attack mode.

It has become a board which sounds like a bunch of teen-agers, which would be funny if it weren't so sad.
