My take onTed Kennedy's announcement
It a battle of kingdoms. This is the return of Camelot.

After the Bushes (BFEE) killed John AND Bobby, possibly John Jr, who better to kick off the start of "payback".

I think the Dems have been biding their time while the Pukes build an inescapable noose for themselves. All the Dems had to do was give them enough rope, and in fact, that was really all they could do.

Teddys announcement was symbolic to me that the goods are in place. The Kennedy legacy is going to come back and drive a stake through the heart of the Bush Crime family.

Also, Clinton will be vindicated for all of the lies and tarnishing the BFEE did to him. He alreay pretty much is, now that it is clear that all the Bushes did was lie since the inauguration and before.

The truth will be known.

Or, no -I guess it was just three lone nuts that coincidentally killed the three greatest liberal leaders of that decade.

Yeah, that's the ticket - big coincidence, lone nuts.... Yep

5. More ridiculous is someone asking for proof of an opinion
I said this is my take - i.e. my opinion.

So, J. Carlos, What's you explanation for Kennedy's announcement?

What was the announcement for?

Why Teddy Kennedy?

10. So let's see now
Ted Kennedy knows that the Bushes murdered his
two brothers and he decides to retaliate by addressing
the issue of war funding.

Forty years later.

12. well, you are free to make what you want of it, but
what I was atually thinking was along the lines of:

Who more apt or deserving to deliver the message that the Democratic mainstream is joining the posse to finally hold the Bushes accountable?

The Bushes seem to have been obsessed with the Kennedy power. Look at the trashing of Kennedy legacies in the news since Bush took ofice.

Bushes are a counterpart in power family. Look at how many Bushes are in cherry picked power positions. Look at how many scandals surround them, none of which they have been properly held accountable for, except perhaps for Silverado.

For Kennedy to deliver this indictment, my guess is he has the
confidence to back these assertions up all the way and nail the this treasonous parasite of an insane clown wagon.

20. As is well known but not commonly acknowledged President Garfield
was in fact not assassinated by disappointed office seeker
Charles Guiteau but was in fact murdered by political rival
Zebediah Bush, great-great uncle of the current President.
Lurking in the shadows of the Washington railroad depot Bush
shot Garfield and quickly faded into the crowd. Authorities
falsely accused Guiteau, who had been angered by Garfield's
refusal to make him ambassador to France.

Ironically Garfield would have probably survived the shooting
but died to unsanitary treatment by his attending physician
Alexander Rove whom subsequent investigations have revealed
was a close associate of the Bush family.

The BFEE - stealing strawberries and whacking the famous
for several centuries.

22. "Look at the trashing of Kennedy legacies"
drug abuse and cowardly action??? The Kennedys are nothing but a bunch of manipulative rich white people who have suckered ignorant people to worship them.

Bush killed JFK???????? It may be your opinion but it would be nice to some supportive evidence. Your tinfoil is crooked IMHO.

7. Wishful thinking, BUT...
First off, the notion of a "return of Camelot" is fanciful. The Kennedy "dynasty" has come and gone, and the "second generation" has proven itself to be less than a pale echo of the Jack-Bobby-Teddy triumverate. The Kennedy "Camelot" will no more come again than will King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. Democrats and progressives will need to look for a new generation of leaders. (And, truth be told, isn't looking for that generation in a particular bloodline a little bit silly for the 21st Century? It's the Right that longs for a heredetary monarchy, and is trying to establish one at this time.)

Having said that, it is significant that Senator Kennedy is speaking out on this. Whatever one may say about Teddy, he's not one to make wild, unsubstantiated charges, nor one to speak unless he judges the time is right. We shall see what will happen here...

8. To me it's the simple act of saying
the war was a fraud and the money is being used to bribe other countries to send troops. Did anything more important than that happen today? I'm too thrilled to bother checking.

Ol' Ted is smart and in many ways exceedingly practical.

There are two major points to his pronouncements today. One is just a signal that the Presidential nomination contenders can now throw around the 'it's a con job and was all for partisan gain' line with impunity. He must have concluded that the Bush people have no real defense against the charge.

The other is to put the media onto the money trail and the Bush people on the defensive with their own base- the 'bribing foreign leaders' bit is masterful provocation and gets at the "wasting taxpayer money on foreign aid" stupidity among Republicans.

It's all clearly going get Teddie solicited by e.g. Russert and Koppel to "explain what he means" and lay out the evidence he has. (Hint: this is going to be some fun.) It makes him the target of Republican anger but benefits all the folks running for W's job far more than himself.

As for Kennedys going into politics, I think we might see the present generation hang around in the House a bit but they're starting to vanish into the monied upper class at much the same time their base constituency, the Boston Irish, are vanishing into middle class suburbia.

15. don't thank me- thank Ted!

I just love watching the old dogs get in the bites that matter in the long run, that fester and refuse to heal up. The Bushies can shout down Ted for a time but it always seems after a few months that what he says becomes general opinion and 'conventional wisdom'.

18. I think it's great Ted had the courage
...to condemn the unaccounted for spending on the war a day after the Congressional Black Caucus announced their refusal to approve the $87 billion request from *, until the administration accounts for all the money spent thus far, and a plan for how it will be spent in the future. Sheila Lee's comments calling for Cheney & gang to step down that same day was a tough act to follow, but Ted did an adequate job. Thanks Ted!

26. If it hadn't been Teddy
I'd think it were more significant politically. He's too easily dismissed on issues like this by the people we need to convince Bush is up to no good. I'd be more excited if somebody like Breaux, Dorgan, or Jeffords said the same thing... or any Republican. Then again, those people would have more to fear regarding reelection and have to watch what they say more closely. Good for Teddy though for speaking up.
