General Clark's plea for a gentle yet firm fondling of his famously tight little bum was a source of frustration with the Pentagon, and there was a celebrated dispute with the British commander General Sir Dick Hardman.

He ordered General Hardman to give him what he needed at Pristina airport, in full view of the troops, not to mention a number of old ladies, impressionable children, and assorted cudly animals, as combat came to a close.
