DID you catch this in the CNN article about Ted Kennedy?
About 1/2 way down the page (hurry, before they "fix" it!)

"The senator's comments reflect the tired old soft-on-defense attitude of the Democratic Party," the Republican official told CNN, speaking on condition of anonymity.

"And the American people are thankful for a strong and decisive leader in President Bush who isn't afraid to make tough decisions."

"...the Republican official told CNN, speaking on condition of anonymity."

Oh, come ON now, fella! So we have a "strong and decisive leader...who isn't afraid..", but he's being defended by a-pardon me for saying it-a PUSSY who won't give his/her/it's name....

Gee, Ted Kennedy wasn't afraid to stand behind HIS words, why are you so afraid to stand behind YOURS, "Nameless ReTHUGlican Official"?

Lemme guess, you just started working for Mr. Rove this week, and you want to try it out before you go public, right?

COWARD!!!!

1. I think Kennedy's wrong about one thing
I doubt the missing money is being used to bribe foreign leaders to send in troops. I bet you can guess where I think the money has gone.

4. The BFEE is "skimming" it...
Just like any good thug does...
Chimpy gets some, Tinman gets some, Poppy gets a LOT, just spread it around, "buy silence", etc.....

9. Teddy knew the facts before he opened his mouth. IMHO
The BFEE has nothing on the Kennedy's when it comes to thuggery. Both organizations deal in the dark. The Kennedy clan has been decimated by assasinations, no tinfoil hat claim, those guys were murdered and Ted was tainted by Chappaquitic(sp). Just because the Kennedy's have no line of succession doesn't mean the family is not dangerous and the young princes are on their way which might explain why the neo-cons seem in such a hurry. This might be more than just a shot over the bow. All it takes for the media to change it's tone is a change in ownership and the media is for sale.

BTW, I was wondering if anyone has seen Kennedy quoted in their newspapers? I haven't found one, of the three I've looked at, the N.Y. Times, the S.F. chronicle, and the Sacramento Bee. Just wondering if the good-puppy press is going to bury his critical comments. It was nice though, to see it on CBS news with Dan Rather last night!

3. There was a time when the media wouldn't print such garbage...
...unless the source gave their name.

- This is 'hit and run' journalism at best.

8. Amazing how they can still let this rhetoric fly
considering the absolute Iraq hellhole they got us in based on lies. Talk about putting national security at risk.

But then, when Bush is cornered FINALLY and made to answer about the contrived link between Saddam and 911, he denies the connection and still, STILL tries to create the illusion of a link with Al Queda (911).

Anytime any of our Democrats care to speak out--oh that's right, most of them can't -they bought into the...fraud.

12. Here's my problem with what Kennedy said.
I agree that we were misled by the President and of course Democrats shouldn't shy away from saying so. Indeed, we have a responsibility to make sure everyone knows how mendacious the administration was in the lead up to the war. But when Kennedy talks about the war so breezily and calls it a fraud, a lot of people take offense and we risk alienating the people who supported the war but who still might be convinced that it was the wrong decision - as long as the person making the case does so in a measured, coherent way. Most people are not going to respond to Democrats (especially someone with Kennedy's history on US wars) who hyperventilate and accuse Bush of starting the war to improve the GOP's chances in the midterm elections. Even if that was true, it's better politics to focus on the substance of the lies, which can be proven false, than the motivation behind them, which will always be cause for speculation.

Also, the families of all those dead soldiers want to believe that they died for something. It hurts them to hear that their family members died for a "fraud" and they're never going to accept that.

I guess what I'm saying is that making the case that Bush lied to the country should be done in a more delicate way.

15. Bull! We've had "delicate" pink-tutu diplomacy for 2.5 years...
enough! We need to smash them in the face, and simply tell the truth. If what we say is factual and irrefutable, then let the chips fall where they may. This nation can't stand an more namby-pamby! "Namby-pamby is what got us here in the first place!

16. Um, how exactly are you going to PROVE that ...
...the war was planned to help the Repugs in the midterm elections? What "factual and irrefutable" evidence are you going to produce to demonstrate that Bush planned to go into Iraq before 9/11?

I say again, stick with what you can prove, like the inflation of intelligence about WMDS, and not what is pure speculation (even if we all know it's true).

18. Oh, Please!
always admonishing us to "tread lightly", to "take the moral high ground" while the ReTHUGs kick us in the teeth and nuts every day.

First, it was the flighty "swing voters" who we had to be careful not to frighten, now it's "the families of all those dead soldiers (who)want to believe that they died for something."

Sorry, They died for something alright, but it wasn't "Gawd, Apple Pie and to make the Iraqi People Free", it was "He tried to kill my Dad" and "Who's the 'wimp' NOW?" and for the benefit of a company called Halliburton.

You know how to sugar-coat that, I'm all ears. Otherwise, I'll take the stand that the Truth, warts and all, will ultimately set these families free. Then they will know it wasn't their loved ones we were mad at, but our "leaders"....

13. Just found out-someone gave me a link. About Time for this!!!
I love what Kennedy said---the thing is (and maddening a hell) is that it did not take a brain surgeon to know that Bush was bribing these assholes all around the world to be a part of that Key Stone Cops conglomeration of "the coaltion of the willing". Basically, a bunch of thugs who stuffed big dough in their pockets to put their country's name on the "list". And not, even one, ace media person looked or cared to look. THAT one piece of the money needs to be really traced. It's as important as what money Halliburton is sucking down. I'd like to know how many other thugs we are supporting that someday will end up with another Iraq on our hands. Now that investigation is something one of our handy dandy candidates could be calling for right now!!!!-----silence doesn't win elections.

17. Anonymous Sources Revealed ...
WASHINGTON, September 19. Anonymous sources told this reporter they planned to vote for George Bush. When asked whether they'd go on record about it, the sources declined, saying: Just tell them a little birdie told you.

Duly noted.
