Wesley Clark went on Meet the Press and told Tim Russert…It's so stunning. I looked it up on Lexus Nexus…and told him after the attack of 9-11 people in the White House, close to the White House told me to go on TV and to say that Saddam was behind the attack.

Under cross-examination by Sean Hannity, which I also looked up on Lexus Nexus, he backed down and said it was a Middle Eastern peace group in Canada.

I heard Clark say what he did on MTP, I also heard various people saying he corrected himself later and that the White House didn't call, but I don't have Nexus access, perhaps someone else can post the actual text...

first White House, then around the White House, then everywhere, and finally some think tank in Canada.

He apparantly wanted to look importent on TV and made this claim and then became aware that people actually listen to cable TV even if its only like a 2 share. Then he found his bike and worked up a sweat trying to get away.

I saw a recap of the various comments once... on cable. Its for real.

Clark did NOT back down, people misinterpreted his words. That is the media's fault, not Clark's! Note in particular that the item closest in reference to his description of his call is "from all over" and NOT from the White House!
