I don't know how many of you here have seen the series of movies based on the comic book "The Crow" but it's my favorite movie. The second of the three part series was on this evening and it was a reminder to me of what was going on now. If you've never heard of the movie it was orginially an underground comic book written by James O'Barr and is very dark. He wrote the comic books after his wife was killed. He one day was wondering what it would be like if his wife could return from the dead and take revenge on her killers and thus he started the comic series. The first movie, "The Crow," was out in 1994 staring the late, and wonderful, Brandon Lee. He and his girlfriend were murdered on Halloween night. They lived in a very dark time and they were trying to make things better in their apartment building for the others who were living there with them. They were scheduled to be married on Halloween. But the city is over ran by really big and tough bullies who kill anybody who gets in their way. They found out about how the couple were doing a petition for the apartment building and came to their house while Lee's character was away and killed his fiance. He fought with them and then he was thrown out of the window. The reason why it's called "The Crow" is because in the film/comic book series it's thought that the crow can be a connection for the dead to the living. The crow is Lee's characters source of power and being a live. After he is dead for a while it seems like the bad guys have won and evil is parading and running the city. Out of nowhere Lee's character returns from the dead and goes after the people who killed him and his fiance with the power of the crow. One by one he meets them and the great thing is these people are really SOB's and pure evil. When they are confronted with Lee's character they realize he is dead among the living and can not be stopped. So throughout the rest of the movie he kills his, and his fiance's, murders one by one. Each time you see him confronting them they become cowards. They talk tough and act tough but as he inches closer to them you can see in their eyes how afraid they really are of him. They know he's on the side of good and has come back for some ass kicking. By the time he finishes the job he meets up with his fiance at their grave site where they both return to the afterlife and can rest in peace. The second one is of course very similiar just a few differences. While watching this movie I realized how dark it really is just like the times we're living in. I realized our government is being run by a bunch of bullies who are killing innocent people for their own gain (Iraqi's). Evil always is taken down by the good. It's just how it works. Right now it may seem hopeless and very dark and dreary but in the long run we'll soon be able to be back where we once were and resting in peace and having a happy life and the killers will be where they deserve in their private hell. Just remember that when you get depressed and think nothing will happen it'll likely happen at the time you're not expecting it and when the bad guy bullies seem like they're comfortable being in power. Of course it happened again in the second movie, which I saw this evening, but like the first movie the good prevailed. If you want more information about these films a good site to visit is
