Are the Saudis Bush's Conduit for "Bribing" Foriegn Ldrs. to Enter Iraq?
Are the Saudis the Conduit for Bush’s Using U.S. Tax Dollars to Bribe Foreign Leaders to Commit Troops to Iraq Without U.N. Resolution?

Two questions: How much money did Putin personally receive in exchange for agreeing to break with the Germans and French and allow young Russian soldiers to be shipped off to Iraq to help George Bush save face? How deeply are the Saudis involved in assisting the Bush Administration, as Senator Ted Kennedy says, to “bribe” foreign leaders to send troops to Iraq?

Let these news stories speak for themselves!

PREFACE:
September 18, 2003:
“Kennedy Believes Unaccounted-for-Money is Being Used to Bribe Foreign Leaders to Send Troops to Iraq”
BOSTON – “The case for going to war against Iraq was a fraud ‘made up in Texas’ to give Republicans a political boost, Sen. Edward Kennedy said Thursday. In an interview with The Associated Press, Kennedy also said the Bush administration has failed to account for nearly half of the $4 billion the war is costing each month. He said he believes much of the unaccounted-for money is being used to bribe foreign leaders to send in troops.”
“…Kennedy said a recent report by the Congressional Budget Office showed that only about $2.5 billion of the $4 billion being spent monthly on the war can be accounted for by the Bush administration.
"’My belief is this money is being shuffled all around to these political leaders in all parts of the world, bribing them to send in troops,’ he said. Of the $87 billion in new money requested by President Bush for the war, Kennedy said the administration should be required to report back to the Congress to account for the spending.” http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20030918/ap_on_go_co/kennedy_iraq&cid=512&ncid=1480

BACKGROUND:
September 2, 2003:
“Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah's Historic Visit to Russia Begins Today”
JEDDAH —“ Crown Prince Abdullah, deputy premier and commander of the National Guard, begins a historic visit to Russia today…Official Russian sources have welcomed the visit of the crown prince, the highest-ranking Saudi ever to visit Moscow. They said Prince Abdullah and President Vladimir Putin will sign agreements for cooperation in the gas and oil sectors and also in the economic, commercial and scientific fields as well as in the areas of sports and youth welfare…The crown prince’s visit is well-timed as it comes before Putin’s summit meeting with US President George W. Bush and the Russian president’s address to the United Nations General Assembly.” http://www.aljazeerah.info/News%20archives/2003%20News%20archives/September/2%20n/Saudi%20Crown%20Prince%20Abdullah's%20Historic%20Visit%20to%20Russia%20Begins%20Today.htm

September 5, 2003:
“France, Germany Criticize US Plan, Russia Takes a “Softer Line”
MOSCOW – “The leaders of Germany and France yesterday slapped down a new US proposal for more international troops and aid to stabilize and rebuild Iraq, while French diplomats called for a return of UN weapons inspectors into the country… Russia took a softer line, with a senior official saying Moscow had not ruled out contributing to a peacekeeping force.”
“’Everyone knows the US made a mistake by going into Iraq and trying to occupy it alone,’ said Ivan Safranchuk, head of the Moscow office of the Washington-based Center for Defense Information. "But while Schroeder and Chirac want to make Bush admit it publicly, Putin is not interested in having the US lose face." http://www.boston.com/news/nation/articles/2003/09/05/france_germany_criticize_us_plan/

“Former President Bush Meets With Putin”
SOCHI, Russia – “Former President George H.W. Bush met Vladimir upon arriving Sunday in the Black Sea resort of Sochi, less than two weeks ahead of his son's talks with the Russian leader… Bush and his wife, Barbara, traveled to Sochi on a plane provided by the airline that serves Putin and other Russia government figures. Putin, his black Labrador retriever nearby, greeted them on the tarmac in English, shaking Bush's hand and giving Barbara a bouquet of roses. Putin rarely meets even high-level visitors at the airport, and Bush thanked him for his ‘extraordinary courtesy.’
"’I can tell you our president will be overcome with gratitude for the way you are treating Barbara and me,’ Bush said. Dressed casually, Bush and Putin held talks at a modest presidential mansion and strolled with their wives before dinner in the large, lush garden sloping down to the sea…The Kremlin said last week that Putin and the younger Bush will meet Sept. 26 at Camp David.” http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20030914/ap_on_re_eu/russia_bush_1

“Putin greets Bush Sr. to bolster US visit” (Thx to Demgrrrll of DU for Story)

MOSCOW – “Vladimir Putin, the Russian president, laid on an especially warm welcome at his favourite holiday spot of Sochi yesterday for a man many Russians think is really driving American policy - George Bush Sr.
The former US president and father of the incumbent, George Bush Jr, is on a private trip to Russia, meeting senior officials and businessmen.
Yet President Putin altered his agenda to fly the former president to Sochi and personally greet Mr. Bush and his wife, Barbara, on the airport asphalt. The three then left for the presidential residence of Bocharov Ruchei in a Kremlin limousine.” http://www.guardian.co.uk/russia/article/0,2763,1042141,00.html

5. Thanks. I Believe Ted Kennedy, Too.
Thanks! I think Ted knows something, as a friend of mine said this morning on the phone. He wouldn't have said this without some convincing evidence.

4. Isn't this tragic the US has to bribe countries to be our friends
To think back to 9-11 and all the goodwill the US had through-out the world. And now, to think that it has come to this. It's astounding how fast this admin has trashed our relationships with the rest of the world. As long as b... is in office, the differences with our allies with never be mended through normal diplomacy. Instead, it requires putting cash on the table. Truly tragic.

6. I think they have been the money middle men for a hell of a lot of
things. They are up to the butt in crap with Papa Bush. Papa Bush is scum who gives a shit about our nation and has always played dirty games with ME countries and the bums who run them. I think money passed from oil barrons and Bush through these guys to terrorists so that an excuse could be made for war. I think after a few attacks the people still weren't rattled enough and more money flowed until things could be either big enough or often enough to justify war. I think that is why Bush wants no investigation to even go near all of this and why he removes pages of reports.

8. Starpass, I'm With You.
You correctly write: "Papa Bush is scum who gives a shit about our nation and has always played dirty games with ME countries and the bums who run them."

GH Bush's Zapata Oil Company was never a real oil company. It was always, in truth, little more than a Public Relations firm for Arabian Oil which helped undermine Texas drilling firms. Bush was the "gatekeeper" for some of the world's worst tyrants and made a tidy little bundle for himself.

And now here is Putin caving in and breaking away from the French and Germans just as Old Man Bush and The Saudi Royal visit Putin in Russia...and all just a week before Dubya Bush and Putin meet at Camp David.

Blood for Oil. Blood for Bribes.

"Rich man's war, poor man's fight."

9. Again, I'd like to know
where are these troops? We've been at this for, what, 6 months. That's $24 billion. Half is supposedly being used for bribes. That's $12 billion. So why aren't any of them showing up, besides the Poles who are being paid separately.

Talk about 'take the money and run'.
