John Kerry responds to chickenhawk Delay over Kennedy attacks
"Tom DeLay is a bully," Kerry said. "He tried to bully Democrats in Texas and we're not going to accept his shrill partisan attacks or allow him to suggest that patriotism belongs to one political party."

Kerry was referring to DeLay's role in redistricting the state's congressional boundaries to benefit Republicans.

Kennedy dismissed DeLay's comments, saying that once again GOP leaders are avoiding questions about Bush's policies "by attacking the patriotism of those who question them."

Kennedy also elaborated on his comments in an interview on CNN Friday, saying the administration is announcing an $8.5 billion loan to Turkey, and that country will then provide military assistance in Iraq.

2. I was so glad to see Kerry's response!
Finally Dems are fighting back... great news, good for Kerry, give it to bastard DeLay... love it! And, I was really surprised to hear Kennedy come on so strong. "Fraud" planned in Texas... great stuff.

5. not the first time
i can think of at least 3 other times tom delay attacked kennedy or kerry over lack of "courage" or "patriotism". all times kerry and kennedy have both responded. but it's just disgusting seeing the little shit attack them. i wish his own consituents would get rid of him.

6. Screech louder, Tom!
People can't hear you anymore. Who are you want to question "patriotism"? Wasn't it Mark Twain that said that flag wrapping is the last refuge of scoundrals? You and your hypocritical, chickenhawk crooks sure give truth to Mr. Twain's words.

9. DeLay is screwing himself strategically
The more he calls attention to himself, the more the public hears his name, etc.

The more famous he gets, they easier it will be to make him the Newt Gingrich of 2004.

11. A lot of our Dems are speaking out and it's time we recognize
that they are. I'm tired of hearing that we only have one going at this administration. Every debate and speech I've heard, they are all going at them. Even Joe Lieberman. We have a lot of voices out there and I would like people to put things on these boards about Kerry, Gep, Edwards, Dennis, Graham, Al, Joe, and Mosley-Brown, too. We need more info coming in on these people instead of fighting the same fights. Good for Kerry and it's time we gave him credit here. He's been a damn good fighter for Dems for years.

12. Thankey kindly for that...
As a political scientist friend of mine says: "a critic is a eunuch in a whorehouse". Many battles are fought far from the spotlight, and much energy is spent parrying and thrusting with the forces of evil. You're right; we DO need to keep this in mind.

14. And it's about time
For the tandem counterattack. When Kerry sticks up for Kennedy, it's all to the good for Democrats. Really is a boost for morale, too. When the Dems meet these little chickenshit attacks forcefully and in numbers, it makes DeLay look like the extremist that he is. Nobody is going to want to be too close to him, especially if he's getting from a couple of sides.

Good job, John and Ted.

17. Kennedy threw in the destruction of Cleland...
They use Max as their battlecry. It really set everyone on fire that they went after Max like they did.

That's why I call Veterans for Kerry the Max Cleland Revenge Tour 2004.

15. I liked the fact
that Kennedy announced the $8.5 billion loan to Turkey. That sure shut Judy Woodruff up. I really am sick of those broadcasters asking "Are you saying that pResident Bush* is lying?" Yes, damn right we are.
