CAN YOU FEEL IT?????
Something's afoot.

The tide is turning.

I don't know what sensation I feel strongest: revenge, hatred, self-righteousness, smugness, calm.

Bush is going down.

Hard.

The tide is turning.

I do think the tide is turning, but I'm very nervous about who they're going to lash out at and strike at as they fall.

They're not going to go quietly.

and I took them in.

They are all beautiful to me. They have all brought me so much love and joy.

My coworker(s) introduced me to Male and Female. They were the last two of a litter, and were to go to the pound the weekend before I took them.

My boyfriend was visiting, when a neighbor showed up at my door with Trinity and Streak. The neighbor had pit bull dogs, his wife wanted to keep the cats, but they couldn't because of the dog situation.

My boyfriend talked me into keeping them. He's a very smart man. That's why I'm with him.

We have over ten cats (won't tell how much over). Most are outside cats and we love them all. Some of ours were "dropped of" too. That's usually the way we acquire another one. My children have been bringing home strays for 25 years.

15. It turned about a month or so ago
I usually don't watch the evening news, but that night I did and the first three stories were all critical of Bush. It was the first time I'd seen the media openly express doubt about the stuff they were handed. Since then, it's gotten louder and more frequent. Ted Kennedy's remarks yesterday would have been unimaginable just a couple months ago. The Bush people keep backing further and further away from the claims they made before the war.

I'm old enough to remember '68, and Bush is sitting where LBJ was -- a war growing less popular by the day and not a darned thing he can do about it.

Bush is going down. It's happening because people are finally beginning to tell the truth about his lies and he and his cohorts are having meltdowns, they can't keep up the coverup forever without leaks about what really happened. The tide is really turning.!!!!

32. I do, too!
I want the repukes and the right-wing and the neocons and all those schmucks to be so discredited that they're set back at least 50 years. I think of the darling Ann Coulter sneering into the cameras about how "we're going to destroy everything you believe in," and visualize those words being eaten every day by people like her. I hope when bush goes down, he takes all those wretched wrecks with him. They wanna turn back the clock past FDR, do they? Dismantle all the progressive reforms that activists and humanitarians throughout the last century worked, marched, struggled, and risked everything to achieve for the good of the country, do they? I hope to see them eat that. And gag on it.

I want the rethugs so stunned and demoralized and sucker-punched and demonized that, in many ways, they will NEVER recover. It certainly is what they want for us. Their karma will likely deliver it to them. I don't just want to see them eat their words, I want to see them choke on 'em. No group of poor excuses for human beings in history was more deserving!

Sorry - but these vermin just bring out the worst in me.

I like to think the tide is turning but I also realize that they game us all. In fact, so BADLY that you really can't tell if they are slipping up or if this is another shitstorm that they can distract you with that falls by the wayside while they try to cram tha awful energy bill down without you noticing it because the drama has you sucked in harder than a 20 horsepower hoover!

41. I won't be convinced until next November
Anything can happen in politics. Nothing has brought him down yet, and I have read far too many threads in here promising his demise, turning worms, tides, toast, et al.

I don't feel anything except the same queasiness that I have felt more or less since that night the news anchors reversed the call in Florida, and in December, when the criminals won because of SCOTUS. The degrees have varied - getting worse with 9-11 or Wellstone's death, and better with no WMD's and other lies. But queasy. No end in sight for at least 14 months or more.

No one really knows what will happen. By December, one of three things: 40-49% approval, the same 52 or 53% approval at present, or for reasons that continue to befuddle us - back to 60% or more!

Don't underestimate these two forces: American ignorance, and Bush's ability to exploit it with the help of a compliant media.

- I don't see Bush* going anywhere...at least not until he loses more support with HIS government and HIS media.

- One only has to remember back to the Reagan administration for clues. Reagan was 'president' when HIS administration sold American weapons to terrorists and worse...and the 'rule of law' and the press never touched him.

- Like Reagan...Bush* has too many layers of 'teflon' protecting him. And...you're going to be very disappointed if you're using poll numbers to indicate whether he'll stay in office.

- Take two aspirins and call us in the morning.

44. remember 1983?
Reagan's approval ratings were in the THIRTY percent range. He embarrassed us with his "evil empire" remarks, lost over 200 Marines in their barracks in Lebanon (ah, the roots of our current terror troubles!), got a quickie boost with Grenada, lost it again, and so on...

Next year? It was "Morning In America!" He trounced Mondale in a landslide.

Cautionary note to all of us: Dean or Clark or ANY of them could be the next Mondale.

Or... Bush will get his ass kicked.

Or... Bush will narrowly "win".

Or ... Bush will narrowly lose.

Anything can happen. Predictions are futile, so I leave ALL of the above options at the ready. No tide, no worm, no toast.
