Jay Leno today....Bashing Democratic candidates and Clark

Leno said Saddam Hussein's newest tape calls Bush a criminal... Saddam should just join the Democratic candidates and join the attacks on the President.
Clinton is advising Clark and you can see that he is being advised by Clinton because Clark has had three different stories about having received a call from the White House before the Iraq war.

Leno is frankly repulsive. He does not say Bush has lied and have people killed...

He's just singing to his choir. Late night talk hosts have dumped on Dems for a long time now (Letterman went for years making jokes about Ted Kennedy every single night, then how fat Clinton was for years, then kissed Bob Dole's feet). I assumed it was because of who employed them - the owners of the networks. But Al Franken told me quite forcibly (we got into an argument; he's not such a nice guy in person) that Letterman is apolitical. That was not my impression for years. I haven't watched him lately, but I heard that he doesn't like Bush* and treated Hilary kindly. But Leno, he's been a dork all along. Even had the Termite-Eater announce on his show.

11. In all fairness to Dave

he did give Bush a much harder time when he visited his show during the '00 election, than any other interviewer. You can tell he really dislikes Bush and he treated Gore nicely on his show (later Gore even invited him to speak to Gore's class at Columbia when Gore was teaching there).

Dave also was also having fun with Franken at O'Reilly's expense. He was asking if O'Reilly was acting like a baby. He was definetely encouraging Franken and I think he agreed with him.

Leno is a hack and after his comment the other night saying "democrats were saying the same things as Ossama at their debate" schtich, I will never watch him again.

Granted the only time I've seen Letterman recently was when Franken was on. Usually I think their both boring.

Jon Stewart is definetely the best. It's so refreshing to see some honest news once in a while!

15. Leno's doing stand up at my school for homecoming

Central Washington University in case anyone's curious. Last year, we had David Spade. I'm assuming that, with the exception of the details, Leno will be relatively unfunny and bitch about "having to be here."

It goes like this:
1. University, trying to outdo previous year, searches around and finds a big name comic to do an hour of stand-up for homecoming.
2. University spends tens of thousands of dollars to pay comic to come out to Ellensburg, WA, completely draining portions of the annual budget.
3. Comic is only coming for the money, and quickly comes to dislike the area before performing
4. Comic gives lackluster performance, leaving students wishing they hadn't spent $20-30 for the ticket.
5. When any department submits a budget to the University, the University says, "sorry, too much--there's no money left. Most schools are strapped for cash these days."

And the cycle repeats.
