Poll question: How Many Folks Know A Conservative Who Is PISSED that * LIED - WMD
or anything else for that matter...

let's make a list, and use them as our talking points. whatever is pissing off conservatives needs to get TRUMPETED loud and clear REPEATEDLY.

I bring this up because i just had an awesome suprise when i bumped into one of my neighbors who i haven't really spoken too in a good while - he supported bush AND the war - and he was PISSED.

he said 'you don't LIE to me about WAR', 'it's all about OIL', 'they think we are FOOLS'

he wants to get together and try to get something started in our neighborhood to pass the word :wow:

it was great. i told him that i knew real conservatives were not like those shouting heads in the lame stream media and at the end of the day we are ALL americans and we draw the line when it comes to our liberties and he agreed enthusiastically as i KNOW any TRUE american would.

anyways...

lets see how prevelant this 'meme' is and work to keep the preasure on :hi:

Edited on Sat Sep-20-03 12:40 AM by ComerPerro
They are in two camps.

Some will not admidt that he lied. They think the media is setting him up.

Others think and know he lied, but they don't care. Apparently only lying about blowjobs is wrong.

But the problem is, I know a lot of conservatives that figure, "We are the superpower, why not spread our influence".
Of course, they are too fucking stupid to realize that 9/11 really helped promote the PNAC agenda.

(american time)

it isn't as quickly dismissed as it is if you bring up nazi germany - rightly so if you are talking about the later years of wwII, but not if you are talking about hitlers SPRINGTIME - AND it has many scary paralles to their behavior in aisa at the time - they even used the term ILLEGAL COMBATANTS - and everyone gets how 'evil' 'THEY' were.

well, that our stalinist russia

4. Guy who works with me is a...
Die hard Republican, hates anything Clinton, loves Rush Limbaugh and he has a PhD in Mathmatics ( one of the few intelligent Republicans that I know ). The company I work for does a lot of government and defense contracts and a couple of days ago we found out that the program that we are working on is getting it's 2004 budget cut by 60%. Also found out that several other defense contracts at this company are getting their 2004 funding cut. Why, because (as my die hard Republican friend said) "that f*cking moron in the White House is taking 87 Billion from worthwile defense programs and wasting it on a pointless war in Iraq". He also commented on how the Iraq war is and always has been about nothing but oil.

Don't get me wrong, this guy would never vote anything but Republican, but it does give me some joy knowing that, even though he will vote for bush in the next election, he won't like doing it.

can he mathematically justify how our economy, even though it's in recovery, got into the shitter with the aid of a republican president? can he mathematically justify all those COOL lost jobs, our KICKASS budget deficits or all those firefighters and police officers who are getting pay cuts and benefit losses? if you're republican, you're just stupid....Im sorry...but if you SERIOUSLY want 4 more years of dubya running things, there is no other word to describe such a political affiliation, and your friend should realize that bush isnt the only moron in the white house.....he forgot his advisors....he forgot mr. undisclosed location, dickhead cheney, and he unfortunately forgot his entire cabinet

My multi-million dollar father-in-law just announced a couple of nights ago:

"If the Democrats put up a decent candidate, he will not vote for the current "Idiot" that is in office"

( He has voted Republican for Pres for the last 4 elections)

I took that as a challenge and printed out some info on Dean and Clark (both reasonably moderate and likely to appeal to a digruntled Republican).

Anyway, he seems to really like Clark and even said he might send him money. He never sends money to candidates!!!

I am shocked.

(edit for crappy spelling) :-)

8. I talked to a friend of mine the other night
who happens to be a conservative Christian and was an enthusiastic shrub supporter. I had not talked to him in over a year and was not about to bring up politics because I know we disagree on almost everything political. Anyway, he brought up Iraq and then said "I can't believe that LUNKHEAD got us into this". He also said he was considering voting Democratic for the first time in his life. When I told him how surprised I was, he said just about every conservative he knew was feeling the same way. He thinks shrub got us in way over our heads. Also was pissed that no WMDs have turned up, no link to 9/11, etc.

I dutifully gave him info on PNAC, which of course, he had never heard of.

16. I have six siblings
Five of them are ex-military and men. One is ex-missionary and is a woman. One brother is a liberal as I am; all four of the others are conservative; sister is also a conservative. They thought * could do no wrong. Two of my brothers were very connected in the military and did some pretty interesting things (can't say or I could be killed). Interestingly enough, the career militarists now say different things about *. Older brother says "he lies everytime he opens his mouth, I would vote Clinton back in if I could". The other one says " * screwed the military and deserves to be sacked". This is the first time that the "against *" group has been in the majority. My older brother is ex-NASA and ex-everything else, who had top security clearance; my younger brother was with the Pentagon for about 15 years. Very interesting that they are now against Bush.

he was military and republican turned against Reagan over a similar issue (when they started talking about how we could fight a "limited nuclear war". It drove him nuts. He thought they were like boys playing with toys with no idea what war was about and they were going to blow up the world.) The good news is he never went back. Got more and more liberal as he got older.

33. excellent! i KNEW our real patriots would be the FIRST to wake up
by real patriots i mean the folks serving in the armed forces AND our police.

sure some of them are gonna go along but i know in my heart that as more folks learn the truth they will be defeated.

if clark gets the nod he WILL win... as loong as the left/dems don't fall apart which is a real risk since many aren't really in the mood for a general on our side i suspect but he is NOT the ONLY one who can SPANK SHRUB contrary to conventional wisdom.

the more i learn about clark the more i learn about establishment connections and i don't like it.

well, it's certain to add up to a VERY BUMPY campain season... i hope we win in the end because there is too much at stake - as we all know - and we may never get another chance since there won't be nothing left that they haven't gotton away with by then and they will be secure in the knowledge that NOTHING - apparently - EFFECTIVELY, can stand in their - the establishment read neo-cons/neo-libs - 'WAY'.

My father is in his late 60s, and has never voted anything except the Rep. party line, is disgusted with Bush. I think there could be a significant number of older Rep. that may vote Dem. depending on the candidate. Many, like my father, do not like the 'neo-conservative' movement and want a return to intelligent statesmen running the country. He served in the military and would most likely vote for Clark or Kerry over Bush*. (I can't express in words how amazing it is to think he wouldn't vote Rep.)

The current generation of evil started with with Raygun , who for unknown reasons conservatives worship. I really don't understand why people can't see that. Same tax cut policies, same huge debts, same build up in military strenght and same defunding of social programs. 1980 is when Amerika went terminal.

come out not only victories but ON TOP of the world.

i would say that it really got out of hand when they - the establishment - took out kenedy when he shut down their first attemp at TERRORISM on the 'home front' - operation northwoods - dems went along when it was abroad but kennedy was strong enough to say no at home... well they couldn't stand for that.

NIXON was our first hint of what the establishment had in mind for us i would say, regan was just a much better 'showmen' and they have only got more brazen since :scared:

Ironically, the one person he MOST hated, (as a businessman) Ralph Nader - he now doesn't mind. He credits him with Bush winning and was pleased when Nader got into the race.

41. I've mentioned this before, but.....
Dipshit's Republican support is splintering. The Buchanan - libertarian wing of the party cannot support the PNAC agenda. The fiscal conservatives cannot overlook a deficit that's approaching half a trillion dollars. And even the Unchristian Coalition types are pissed off that the 2 of the BCE's 5 justices on the Supreme Court (the same ones who installed Junior as pResident) ruled against Texas' sodomy laws.

The moron lost the last election by about 539,000 votes. If he loses even 1% of his core support, he is fucked, and even the Diebold frauds will be questioned. Whether it will be possible to defeat the regime at that point remains to be seen, but the Moron in thief is in deep deep shit and PNAC knows it.

44. So your Organizing Republicans?
"it was great. i told him that i knew real conservatives were not like those shouting heads in the lame stream media and at the end of the day we are ALL americans"

What's a real conservative?

Funny that Unity works...

I have a dream....

Archibald Carey's Speech
Republican National Convention, 1952

We, Negro Americans, sing with all
loyal Americans:
My country 'tis of thee,
Sweet land of liberty,
Of thee I sing.
Land where my fathers died,
Land of the Pilgrims' pride
From every mountainside
Let freedom ring!
That's exactly what we mean--
from every mountain side,
let freedom ring.
Not only from the Green Mountains
and White Mountains of Vermont
and New Hampshire;
not only from the Catskills
of New York;
but from the Ozarks
in Arkansas,
from the Stone Mountain
in Georgia,
from the Blue Ridge Mountains
of Virginia
--let it ring not only for the minorities
of the United States, but for the disinherited
of all the earth--may the Republican
Party, under God, from every mountainside,
LET FREEDOM RING!

I don't have internet access very often. But when I do, I go right to Buzzflash and GFP to read the news and then to DU. Glad to see you're still here too! :hi:

51. Andy the Right Wing Republican is pissed
Edited on Sat Sep-20-03 01:34 PM by 5thGenDemocrat
Not so much about the WMD as the $87 billion dollars pResident Dopey wants next to finance his illegal war.
To Andy, it ain't about the war, it's about the money.
John
Which shouldn't surprise anyone here who knows Andy.
ON EDIT: Chip, another (religious/fundamentalist) conservative friend of mine thinks what Dopey is doing in Iraq is plain murder. He, unlike Andy, might vote for a "centrist" Democrat -- Lieberman, Clark maybe (haven't asked him about Clark yet), Dean maybe -- still too early to say -- he sure doesn't like what's happening over there.
I'm just hoping Andy sits this next one out. Or, way better, that someone like Pat Buchanan gets into this race.

52. Every Veteran I run into is PISSED
My grandparents who are old school Republicans .
Are Dumbfouned , my grandfather put his life on the
line in WWII and the Korean War for world stability .
Bush is dissmantling everything that Generation
thought they were leaving us . I see a scared look
in my Grandfathers eye . He Graduated first in his class
at Harvard Business School , a very smart man who can
make me look very STUPID , he chooses for the first
time in his life , just to listen to me . He doesn't
defend bush or Rush anymore , he doesn't attack Dean
the guy who I support in the primary .

THIS IS A BIG DEAL , no one in my family usually
keeps their mouth shut . we love each other for our
passions .

Thanks for sharing , Great Thread .

Oh and Today when walking in a parking lot I saw a guy
standing by his truck with a bush/cheney sticker on it
I stated bush is a lyer so he could turn around and see my
face and confront me if he wanted . I stood and waited
for him to say something , I guess he expected me to walk
away , I just stood and waited for his response .
He turned around and got in his truck w/o saying SHIT ...

OH YEAH !

56. re
My dad, a ronald reagan lover, hates George Bush.

He saw the farce of the whole WMD argument before we went in to Iraq. And he has been against the Bushies since the Patriot Act. He's a real conservative though, pro-civil liberties, anti-imperialism, fiscal responsibility.

Wants Howard Dean to win too...

66. I have spoken to them about the roots of the neo con philosophy
showing its roots in Trotsky and Leo Strauss. I emphasize that the neo cons are not conservative, but are radicals.

Other ones to are more reactive, I speak of bread and butter issues. One question forthem, what if it was Clinton instead of Bush, would he have gotten a free ride by the media.

When Bush said "Bring 'em on", I think a lot of conservatives were not happy about that. I don't think the airplane landing went over so well either.

Edited on Sat Sep-20-03 04:44 PM by Davis_X_Machina
...for perfectly good reasons. Congress wouldn't have given him his terrible swift sword with which to work God's vengance unless he had lied. The ends justified the means -- just like the election in Florida. We need a strong man to lead us, and don't care what he has to do, or what corners he has to cut, to get the Lord's work done."

78. My Baptist Missionary mom
has turned on Shrub. She had been the only person in our family to support him in 2000, but when I told her about Dean recently, she said "Anyone would be better than what we have now. It's turning into 1930s Germany here". I was shocked!

My mechanic is a McCain repug, and he'll never make the mistake of voting for drinky McDumbass again. He's voting Dean if Dean is the candidate!
