Nations with troop's committed to Iraq. ( #'s )

A Look at Nations Committing Troops to Iraq
The Associated Press
Published: Sep 20, 2003

Some of the nations with which the United States has discussed contributing forces to peacekeeping operations in Iraq. There are currently more than 20,000 troops or security forces in Iraq from 26 nations, most of them organized under two peacekeeping contingents: under the British in the south and under the Poles in central Iraq.

- Turkey: Considering U.S. request for 10,000 to 20,000 peacekeeping troops, Turkish officials say.

- South Korea: Washington has suggested that Seoul send 9,500 troops, South Korea officials say.

- Pakistan: Debating a U.S.-British request for a division of 10,000 to 12,000 soldiers, officials in Islamabad say.

1. Suckers
The leaders of every one of those countries are certifiable idiots to fall for our chief idiot's schemes. This might get Latvia or Kazakhstan some reward money but the hate they reap won't be worth it.

What are the talking heads gonna say if Turkey sends soldiers who just end up getting shot at like ours do?

Just because the troops may be Muslim doesn't mean they're not an occupying force.

2. Now lets see a list of who is getting aid
either who is newly recieving foreign aid, or who is getting an increase.
Not that Bush is bribing these countries. But then again, they are small countries.

4. And what jobs these troops are doing
Isn't it the case that very few are "combat" troops? I believe the Spanish troops include medical workers, not combat troops. Beyond the U.K. and Poland, who's helping with the war work?

6. i need a definition of 'helping out'
the paper work alone because of 50 or 60 'peacekeepers' would cost an american fortune. and what does the gov't of these 50 or 60 'helpers' get in return?
this is what teddy k is talkng about.

7. Actually, it's not so many
when you consider how many nations there are in the world (I think it's around 190), as well as the fact that this list DOES NOT include:

our neighboring countries (Canada and Mexico)

Iraq's neighboring countries (Turkey may join in for $$$)

any Arab countries

Muslim countries (Albania? Slovakia?)

our allies (or, used to be allies)France, Germany, Japan, Australia, Israel, India (Aussies did have troops, who have now gone home)

Major players China and Russia

Bush pals in the war on terra the Saudis, Indonesia, Pakistan (Pakistan considering)

Also, a question for everyone -- who made the statement about the coalition nations sending an average number (what was it?) of troops to Iraq? Trying to find it, because I believe some shill was selling a number like 900 per country (average). More propagandistic use of numbers, if you look at this article, which shows 20 nations out of 26 sending 600 or fewer troops. Trying to nail down that quote, appreciate your help.

Please feel free to add to/correct this post.

8. Do you have the numbers for the actions in Afghanistan?
I would love to throw the number of French (yes, there are!) that helped in Afg. in the face of somebody who loves to bash the "cheese-eating surrender monkeys".

9. What,,,,,,,,,,no KKK or Boy Scouts?
Bush is paying the cost for just about every soldier there with yo money! I know the Poles are being funded by you and me, but who else? Now an $8 billion + bribe to Turkey! We need to trace EVERY dollar we've spent to date, before we spend more to fund the security forces for Halliburton/Cheney/Bush's project 'Iraq Teapot Dome'!

Ted Kennedy and Mr Byrd are going to make the crooks fess up yet! Bush boiling in Cheney's oil will be something to watch!
