Stupid Bush
My dad was admitted into the hospital this past thursday for congestive heart failure. He is 80 years old. They ran him through a bunch of tests, one of them for testing his mental awareness. During that test they asked various questions like 'what day is it', etc. then they asked him who the president of the United States is and his answer was 'stupid Bush'. After that response, they knew there was nothing wrong with his awareness and the nurse said 'a man after my own heart'..I got a chuckle out of it, hope some of you do too...by the way, he is much better now..thank god...should be home by monday

2. just think
After congestive heart failure and even at 80 he's 90 times sharper than your average freeper, who still does not see the problem with bush.

Best of wishes to your dad. Your story gave me my lunch hour chuckle; thanks for posting it.

5. My mom's in the hospital for the same thing - my prayers for your dad.
Unfortunately, Mom's still got her Fox News on in her room... Most of the time she's pretty aware of the shit that goes on, but she still watches them all the time.

Hope your dad's better soon. Obviously his mind remains in perfect health.

7. President...
Which one is the "stupid" Bush? ( just kidding, I have no doubt.)

My mother-in-law was asked the same questions in emergency. She said "Hayes"...

..it had my wife and I scrambling throught the history books. A bit before even her time.

We need to keep all our older liberals around, while welcoming in new blood as well.

11. It's a good thing he didn't say,
"That G__d__n stupid, fu__ing SOB Bush" or someone might have decided he was okay and didn't need treatment. (Of course, a freeper would have shot him up with Haldol or something.)

So glad he is doing better. Give him our best regards.

13. I love it!
I remember reading somewhere, either here or the Dean blog, where emergency room nurses have noticed this sort of trend, lately. When a victim is asked, 'Who is the President of the United States?' The answer is overwhelmingly, 'That asshole Bush!', 'Bush, unfortunately.' or something to that effect.

17. Similar thing...
...I needed cognitive testing after my car accident. The doctor asked me who the president was. I said, "Do you mean who is that murderous imposter who was installed by the Supreme Court?" The doctor smiled and said, "Nobody can give a straight answer to that question."

20. I'm glad to hear your dad is doing better.
I'll say a prayer for him (and you) tonight.

This reminds me of what happened to one of our local activists several years ago. Her 5 year fell and banged her head really hard. A little while later she threw up and was acting whoozy so she was taken to the hospital to be checked out (she turned out to be okay). The doctor asked her a few simple questions, then turned to her mom and said "If she were an adult this where I'd ask her who the president is." "Bill Clinton!" shouted the 5 year old.

21. Best wishes for a speedy recovery to your dad.
He sounds just like my dad, who's going to be 86 soon. My dad, and mom, hate * so much they either leave the room, change the channel, or if all else fails turn off the t.v. to avoid looking at his stupid smirking mug.
