2. That B-52 memorial was quite illuminating...... |
|
and the interview with Marilyn Mason was totally out of line with my expectations....he sounded (gasp) quite normal.

4. He is damn good in concert also. I saw him twice this summer. |
|
and got much grief for it. The lyrics to many of his songs are interesting too. MM can rock.

5. I originally hated this guy because I thought he was just rehashing |
|
a bunch of cheap gimmicks, but after hearing his statements, I really like him and think he is quite an appropriate heir to this genre. He has earned some respect from me at least.

6. I just saw it last night for the first time, too |
|
and was REALLY impressed by Marilyn Manson. I've not listened to his music much but he made a helluva lot of sense -- particularly when he talked about how this county's psyche is based on fear -- from politics to advertising. Very insightful individual.

at how good Bowling was.
My husband and I saw it last weekend and we've talked about it several times since then.
I thought it interesting that the main differnce between Canadians and Americans was the news programs they watched. Moore seemed to be saying that Americans may be resorting to violence because they are frightened by all of the blood and guts on the news in the U.S. In other words, Americans are afraid that they will be shot so they shoot first.

One compelling picture. And that's not the half of it.

I thought it was really good. Fascinating in a sad sort of way to see the fear angle laid out like that. I agree it should be required viewing.

10. I cried when the father |
|
of one of the slain students spoke at an anti-NRA rally. The signs with his son's photo made me break down. The footage of the assault in the school were horrifying. Heston and Clark came off as self-absorbed jerks. I'm sure Heston thought he could hold his own with Moore...that he (Heston) is such a macho tough guy he couldn't get shaken by some twit who makes documentaries. But Heston had to walk away. Quickly. This is a lesson to us all. Don't back down. Challenge the right. Be tenacious.
