DYNASTY: Poppy wants Jeb to be President
Edited on Tue May-31-05 08:21 PM by Bluebear
 Let's just call it a royal dynasty and be done with it.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - George Bush, the president's father, would like to see another Bush in the White House someday, saying on Tuesday that he would want his son Jeb to run for president when the timing is right.

Florida Governor Jeb Bush has repeatedly said he does not plan to run for president in 2008, trying to dampen speculation that another Bush could be on the next Republican ticket for the White House...

"The timing's wrong. The main thing is, he doesn't want to do it. Nobody believes that," Bush said.....

Barbara Bush said she believed Senator and former first lady
Hillary Rodham Clinton would be the Democratic nominee in the 2008 presidential race. "I'm not going to vote for her, but I'm betting on her," she said. Note: The right is reaaaaalllly pushing Sen. Clinton, aren't they?

1. Somebody tell him America is not a trinket to be handed down.
And point out to the old fart that Flordia is such a huge example of how NOT to do just about anything that Jebbie would get laughed off any platform.

If they run Jeb, they are admitting the computer voting machines are totally programed to their whims and not recording actual votes.

15. "...Flordia is such a huge example of how NOT to do ..."
You could have said the same thing about Texas in 2000, and look what happened.

2. Well, if Babs said it, it can't possibly be true, thank goodness,
because the one sure thing you know about that family is how totally out of touch they are with the rest of us.

However, they are an imperial family, and Jebbie is next in the line of succession for the family throne. The only way he could get out of running and making his Momma proud is by blowing his brains out.

We all know he's not about to do that, so Jebbie will definitely be the GOP candidate in 2008. Family ambition always trumps everything else.

5. I'm not sure what to think.

Are they pushing her because they think she will be easy to beat or because some deal was struck? In a book on H.C. (I believe it was the book written by Brock), supposedly the Clintons got a phone call offering them a "free pass" in 96 if they would back off and let Bush I win a second term? Assuming this is true, based on the coziness of the Clinton/Bush relationship it makes me wonder if another deal was struck. Though it would seem that McCain made a deal with Bush I wouldn't be surprised if the Bushes played McCain for a fool. If H. Clinton did serve, it would probably make it easier for a Jeb Bush presidency to happen (the argument being that if two Clintons can serve as president then surely three Bushes can.)

It will be interesting to see whether the Republicans put up a weak or strong candidate.

On edit: As far as the Bush dynasty goes, I think this was evident back in the 2000 election. However, I don't think they plan to stop at 3 (they do have the Hispanic grandchild waiting in the wings).

13. Plan B
If she wins it's no biggie. Nothing will change for the simple reason that they will hound her and the MIC will do whatever it wants to do. Plus, Hillary cares about Hillary.

Nevertheless, they plan to beat her...and they will.

You do realize that Hillary has the same record as Lieberman on all the major votes that have so driven us to ruin.

Time for a party that will represent us. Would the republican party be ignoring the Downing Street memo? huh? I don't think so.

I'm sure Clark will support her and that is when our ways part.

I will never again vote for anyone who voted for this war and all the other stupid anti-democratic shit that has been heaped on our heads.

19. I was thinking about what would happen if Hillary won.
I agree that not much would get accomplished because they would hound her. Secondly, her election would do nothing to revive the Democratic party. In fact, I believe her election would further weaken the Democratic party. The Republicans can count on the Clintons putting their own self-serving needs and desires ahead of doing what is right for this country.

I agree on the parting of ways. I strongly support Clark but I will not vote for Clinton.

16. The guy's satanic. Here's proof he was in Dallas when JFK shot.
The official FBI memo of Bush's telephone call to the Dallas FBI office in which he ratted out one "James Parrot" as possibly involved in the assassination. Read it yourselves and spread this around. The one in the National Archives may get classified soon by one or another of the treasonous bastard's sons.

17. Karma is what will get him and them in the end. . .
The Bushes better read up on history and remember what happens to family dynasties who overreach.

Some folks gotta learn the hard way, I guess.

18. The right is pushing H.Clinton
because they know a woman has slim chances of winning the presidency at this time. They would be very happy to see Clinton get the nomination, which is doubtful at any rate. Men (and many women) in this country would be reluctant to vote for a woman president. Get opinions from men about having a woman president if you don't believe this. Woman still don't get the respect they deserve for their strengths, you know the 'weaker sex' thing.
