Letter to friends about the Downing Minutes
Edited on Wed Jun-01-05 12:54 PM by libertypirate
Dear Friends,

I am writing you today for two reasons. One is that I am not sure you all have seen this site.

http://www.downingstreetmemo.com

And a group that setup a campaign to urge congress to investigate.

http://www.afterdowningstreet.org

These sites are just information which is useless unless someone who has the power to make change has it. This is also why I am writing you it's actually Americans like yourself who will force this into the light for the rest to see. There has been one Representative who has been speaking truth to a deaf republican power structure and a loyalty driven news apparatus his name is Rep. John Conyers.

Mr. Conyers has setup an online petition and is seeking 100,000 signatures. The American people don't need a news apparatus that shrugs off its duty to the public. Our only relief from this brokering of our public information and trust is to force on them the reality that the information represents.

The Downing Street Minutes have been in the public for a month and it has barely been noticed in the US. If you are as sickened as I am by the thought that the war was more important then the reasons to have it then please take a moment and sign the petition.

Thank you
XXXXXXXXX

PS. For a quick review of the administrations rhetorical BS prior to this war you only have to listen.

2. Excellent letter. You may want to consider adding a link to "Remind Us"
It is powerful and has the added bite that it was produced and available long before the Nov 2004 election.

5. SUGGESTION:
As per this message - http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=104&topic_id=3759670&mesg_id=3759670 - why not change the link to http://www.downingstreetMINUTES.com ? I see you correctly referred to them as "minutes" in your last paragraph, so kudos -- just an FYI that the "minutes" domain name works too.

NIX THE MEMO MEME!
THEY'RE MINUTES NOT, NOT A MEMO!
