Bush's Words Come Back to Haunt Him
March 18, 2003
Dear Mr. Speaker: (Dear Mr. President:)

Consistent with section 3(b) of the Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution of 2002 (Public Law 107-243), and based on information available to me, including that in the enclosed document, I determine that:

(1) reliance by the United States on further diplomatic and other peaceful means alone will neither (A) adequately protect the national security of the United States against the continuing threat posed by Iraq nor (B) likely lead to enforcement of all relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions regarding Iraq; and

(2) acting pursuant to the Constitution and Public Law 107-243 is consistent with the United States and other countries continuing to take the necessary actions against international terrorists and terrorist organizations, including those nations, organizations, or persons who planned, authorized, committed, or aided the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001.

Sincerely,

GEORGE W. BUSH

It seems Bush started the Iraq war with a claim that Iraq was connected to 9-11.

4. And don't forget Cheney running around and insisting there was a
connection. The last time he made the rounds of the TV shows a couple of months ago he was still saying that.

Here's the problem as I see it: the WMD thing was iffy. The invasion based on that claim and Public Law 107-243 could definately land these two in war crime court because they didn't really have permission from the UN.

However, everyone had already signed off on any invasion any time any where when those involved in 9-11 were found - Public Law 107-243. They can use this anytime they like. It has no end date. So it was thrown in just in case the invasion for WMD is declared illegal.

7. "There was a dude in Iraq that may or may not have known
Osama bin Laden, at some point. Possibly. Unconfirmed."

That's along the lines of the kind of integrity and intelligence the Bush administration used to justify Iraq.

What I'd like to know is why our Democratic leaders (I've all but given up on the media) aren't harping on this.

And hey lurking freepers... exposing war crimes that have lead to thousands of deaths, exposing how a war was illegal and unconstitutional is only considered "whining" by treasonous sociopaths.
