Is it me or does it seem like just yesterday, that we were talking about 1500 soldiers who have perished in Iraq. Yesterday I saw report how May was a horrific month, and June has started where May has left off.

This just makes me sad :-(

4. Cheney also said
Back in December, Cheney also said that the insurgency would be "out of business" once the elections were held and Iraq had a government.

I cannot fathom why anyone would listen to Vice President Other Priorities when it comes to military strategy.

7. Go To Chicago Tribune.com and Read Steve Chapman
He takes on Cheney's statement today. He's not a dem or a liberal (libertarian really), but he really has a thing about Cheney. The loathing oozes from the page.

8. Steve Chapman; The Sobering Reality of the Iraq war
Watching the recent frenzy of violence in Iraq, Vice President Dick Cheney is not perturbed. Quite the contrary--he sounds practically elated. "We're making major progress," he said Monday. Iraq, he explained, is "in the last throes, if you will, of the insurgency."

You know that secure, undisclosed location of his? I think we can be sure it's not on this planet.

On the same day Cheney was savoring his delusions, suicide bombers were striking in Iraq.

2. That is because we are winning. The more our people die the more
it shows that the insurgents are in their last throws of a dying rebellion. Don't you get it? Duh! :-) heavy sarcasm

9. There's even a question there
The Citadel military college here in Charleston put out 1830 flags for the fallen of Iraq...34 of them for SC citizens.

1830.

The Citadel's commandant is a retired general. Do you suppose he maybe has a better handle on what the REAL numbers are?

10. 1668 was just US, 1830 might include ally soldiers too?

13. I greatly doubt it.
Considering that the Citadel is right-wing bastion of patriotism that doesn't recognize the existance of anything that others would term 'ally'.
