Predict the Terrorist Attack that will drive us to the next invasion:
My $'s on anthrax.

Why?

Cipro for the bigwigs, can be treated if caught, scares the crap out of people, plus very contollable delivery.

Oh yeah--it's hit a Blue state, fersure. Cali?

1. Some kind of big explosion in Iraq killing a bunch of US servicemen
That will be blamed on Iran, thus giving the neoCON's a reason to attack them. I would put my money on some kind of "dirty bomb", in a MIHOP operation...Can't have an attack here, that would mean W hadn't kept us "safe"...

Dirty Bomb - LAX - traced to the "nuclear waste" that disappeared
from Iraq at the outbreak of the war.

6. I agree with you. Dirty bomb. . . .
. . . And when it happens, Zarqawi will be spotted racing away, veritably sprinting from the scene on foot after accidentally dropping his passport and the latest video tape from Osama Bin Forgotten.

TYY

12. Gots to be LAX
because

1) Osama never forgets a target ( they make multiple attempts
if the first one fails(, LAX was the theoretical target of the
Millennium Plot.

2) Bushco/PNAC needs it to be a west coast event.

3) Hurting CA economically (tourism, post of LA, etc, etc) is
a plus

4) Chance to get a re-election for a "war time" gropenfuher (who will
be all over TV with tough talk and "Ahhlll be back" shit).

and linked to the material which somehow slipped through the
Coalitions hands at the beginning of the war... so they can say
"SEE! We told you so! They not only HAD WMDs, but they just used
then against the US just like we SAID THEY WOULD!!!" (So kiss
the rest of your liberties goodbye you godless commies)

I consider the Enron/California disaster a terrorist hit. So I don't have a clue what they'll do next time. We didn't see it coming the last couple of times. They always manage to surprise. :(

7. I used to be in the dirty bomb category -
but after hearing of Frist's new push for biodefense, and knowing he's the putative GOP candidate for '08, I'm starting to wonder about a biological attack (which will make him look prescient).

Plus, it would be possible to implicate Iraq, if it were to use a serotype that Saddam had been known to have bought from us in the 80's.

Of course, I hope I'm wrong on all counts, and there's no attack. But I don't see how they'll get the public ready to accept the draft that will be necessary unless there's an attack here first.

8. No, I think Jersey...
Or Ohio... you have to follow the Homeland security trucks as they prepare. Plus, Ohio had too many problems during the 2004 election cycle, you cannot clean up that much crap without a big clean up crew.

I don't think Anthrax, because Cipro is so available. I think less "attack" and maybe more "mirage" of one.

I suppose we shall see. Rove has been far more white than usual. He must be spending a great deal of time in his cave.

9. Heard Rumsfeld start a new pile of BS yesterday
Syria and Iran are still in Bushco's sights. I think they they are building cases for invasion on a number of fronts now. Need to have backup plans, right?

Here's one possible way that doesn't involve a new 911. They could use this to "justifiably" escalate tensions to the point of invasion:

http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/world/la-fg-rumsfeld2jun02,1,141782.story?coll=la-headlines-world

WASHINGTON — Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld warned Iraq's neighbors Wednesday against providing medical treatment or safe haven to Iraq's most-wanted insurgent, Jordanian fugitive Abu Musab Zarqawi.

Rumsfeld did not specify consequences or name a country, but the warning appeared intended for Syria and also may have been aimed at Iran.

22. Yep. Anywhere there's a "Warning", there's a "We warned you!" attached.
Just like China getting all loud and uppity at Japan. Oops, a crime of passion. No, we're not leaving, ever.

Whether there is any proof is another story.

11. It will be in a Blue State
Massive amount of casualties

Bush will say that the attack was not preventable

It will not a CBN attack, it will be something tangible, like an airplane or a truck bomb that will take out at least one building.

14. A Major Attack on Congress
while the Republicans are conveniently away at a prayer breakfast on the outskirts of DC. All except for the McCain and the band of 7 anyway.

Then all the Repuke Governors can name their replacements. This will lead to

- Martial Law
- Suspension of the Constitutional ban on being pResident for more than 2 consecutive terms.
- With 80 Republicans in the Senate and 400 in the House, the Draft will be re-instated, with deferments of course.
- Repeal of Social Security.
- Arrest of "leftist terrorist" who hate America.
- Approval for drilling in every effing place.

I'm hoping to God we don't have another attack. These fuckers have shreaded the Constitution, and pulled the threads holding our democracy together so tight, that the United States as we know it WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SURVIVE.

15. I disagree that it will be a blue state
I just keep thinking that you cannot underestimate how diabolical these guys are. NOTHING is too evil for them to contemplate doing.

I think it will be in several states, both blue and red. In order to get the entire country on board for this new invasion, the next attack has to be WORSE than 9/11 and elicit such a visceral reaction in people that they go into total reactionary mode. It has to be so shocking that people are unable to think rationally. People have to be so flaming pissed that when * starts rattling his saber, they just say DO IT. And it has to be something so chillingly evil that it prompts lots of people to enlist in the military and gets them to mindlessly accept martial law, national ID cards, and whatever else * says we need to protect America.

The net result of the next attack must be carte blanche for the neocons if they are to accomplish their plans, and this is a pretty tall order in light of *'s dismal public opinion polls these days. They basically have to destroy America's current reality to make their extremist agenda look perfectly reasonable and necessary, but they have to do something far more brutal and horrifying than 9/11 for it to work. God, it scares the hell out of me just following this train of thought. I don't like where it's taking me.

My mind keeps going back to that horrible Russian elementary school tragedy. All of those poor innocent children killed. What if that was a trial run for a larger scale attack here? The American people would absolutely freak if several large public schools in cities across the country were to be attacked. Children casualties are the worst thing I can think of that could happen, and that's why I'm afraid they would do it. Because I don't believe the neocons will place any limits to what they're willing to do to accomplish their evil agenda. Plus, part of their plan is to get rid of public schools anyway. Something like this would shut the schools down in a hurry. Okay, I need to stop. This is just too awful to think about anymore.

:scared: I simply cannot bring myself to doubt that these monsters are capable of doing extreme horror in order to MAKE their plan for global domination a reality. I hate that. I hate that I have arrived at this point, at this belief that any US leadership is actually capable of such atrocities.

20. They already fucked up the anthrax attack plot.
Meaning that it cannot be an attack by others, when it comes directly from our own Government, like their previous anthrax attack that came from our own Government and is still an unsolved act of terrorism.

Too many people know where the previous anthrax came from.

24. Assassination of Bush
Done by the same folks that brought us the Oklahoma City Bombing, WTC '93 and WTC 911, the assassination will be by an Iranian fundamentalist.

First step after the assassination: President Cheney announces war with Iran.

Second step: Martial law (to protect us during the escalation of hostilities).

Third step: Bend over and kiss your ass goodbye.

25. I'm thinking of something less spectacular than 9/11 and
more on the order of the US Cole. It will probably be done overseas, but the target will be American, like maybe an embassy. I don't think they will risk anything as big and as close to home as 9/11. It would make them look incompetent twice.

26. If I were betting... I'd put my money on:
Portland, Oregon.

the reasons being:

1) They'll use the fact that the city pulled out of the Terrorism Task Force as a "what not to do" wedge.

2) It's a major port with a substantial population, and if they hit the downtown area during an event such as Rose Festival, there will be a high body count.

3) It's a small enough city that will scare the shit out of middle America - most people expect places like New York or LA to be hit, not a City the size of Kansas City or Phoenix.

4) Oregon is a swing state that Bush lost - largely due to an OVERWHELMING amount of Kerry supporters in the Portland area.

5) There's a reason why he/the Pentagon cut the bases in the Portland area - the response time in an emergency will be slower.

I don't know how it will happen - and frankly, it's a little morbid just thinking about it. I'm just saying that if Bush wanted to get back at a city for not marching lock step with this administration, Portland is a good candidate.

33. it has to be relatively nontraceable or at least falsely traceable...
if falsely traceable, look for an immediate announcement of the puppet organization who allegedly attacked us. That will be your confirmation its MIHOP or LIHOP. If they can know within 24 hours who did it, they were too connected to who did it.

I hate to think about it, but I put nothing past these evil scum.
