a letter from Walter Cronkite

did anyone else get this DM package from the Interfaith Alliance? the accompanying letter by Cronkite (honorary Chairman) starts like this:

"Dear Friend,

when I anchored the evening news, I kept my opinion to myself. But now more than ever, I feel I must speak out.

That's because I am deeply disturbed by the dangerous and growing influence of people like Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell on our nation's political leaders."

"as a concerned person of faith, however, I have watched with increasing alarm as the Christian Coalition and other Religious Right groups manipulate religion to further their intolerant, political agendas."

he asks for a contribution to help them fight the influence the Religious Right has on civic life in America. I don't consider myself a religious person but I will donate to this cause!
