I've got one at home (OS 9. something)G4. I've got quick time but all links seem to be Windows Media Player or Real Player? Any suggestions. Does White Rose Society have links?

Thanks for the reply. My husband has some kind of older music software that he says will not work on OSX but he may be incorrect.
I'll try to find out more info and repost my question in The MAC group forum.
:)

As an avid Randi listener, hearing him claim to be the No. 1 progressive voice while attacking Howard Dean was totally undercutting all of us. Dean has been out there working his ass off. If Ed doesn't realize that, he should get more informed.

I agree Ed should have been more diplomatic. But many people are voting Republican not because they agree, but because Republicans are great at trashing Democrats. Democrats need to win in 2006, just winning the White House is no longer enough. Without Democratic Governors, Senators, and local officials..where can we get winning Presidential candidates?

Democrats are losing not from a repulsive message, but as people grow tired of voting for losers!

31. Wrong ass. The other side has the asses Ed needs to focus on. Dean
debunked the article Ed was referencing - the author didn't even speak to anyone at the DNC - you can't trust the numbers he used in his article. Ed continued to refer to the article "What should Dems think when they read blahblahblah" - that's your job Ed - inform our side with correct info, not perpetuate the right wing agenda.

Dean discussed DNC grassroots organizing - which we have not had until now - having each state exquisitely organized - Ed wasn't interested - wants to pout and stomp for not getting attention sooner.

Edited on Thu Jun-02-05 05:24 PM by Proud_Lefty
He's going directly to the people and really working the grassroots literally. So much of the media edits their message these days, refusing to allow our full message to come out. Dean is bypassing so much of that, and letting people know firsthand who he is and what he, as head of the DNC, represents. Then he starts making the media rounds and more people know better than falling for another right wing evil trick, like the one they pulled on him in Iowa.

DU is great for people like us who know what the neocons are doing to America and our government. But by the time most voters are suffering..it is way too late!

Dean should be assigning people to raise money for local parties. Let Sam Nunn raise money for the Georgia Democrats, John Edwards raise money for North Carolina, and Bill Nelson raise money for Democrats in Florida. Dean should be ripping these incumbents daily, there should never be a day that he is not on a national network!

people listen and give to those with national publicity. If I wanted to contribute money to a political party, would I contribute to a candidate that can sneak a line into a bill for me..or to someone with no political influence at all?

publicity adds credibility to our message and party, more people will contribute and vote because Democrats can win. If we can't raise money or draw national attention, what makes us different from the Green Party?

56. Who said being the underdog was easy?
I still remember Republicans making the rounds in late 1992, even as everyone knew Bush was history. Burning Dean out will get us nowhere.

Being on a major network every single night is the most realistic way to be everywhere on every issue at all times. Hopefully Dean will change our strategy sooner than later. Democrats need a national strategy...we need something like GOPAC for the midterm elections. We need a strategy to spin even this story.."Democrats should be drawing as much attention to the big donors and corruption among Republicans as to the widespread rage against Congress."

As people throw in the towel on incumbents..they will begin listening to our ideas.

10. Schultz is offensive - calling him 'Mr Dean' - called George McGovern
'Mr' yesterday, as well. Why does Schultz have a propensity for demeaning the stature of venerable figures in the Democratic party?

I'm from Minnesota and have heard Schultz on a few occasions talk to Republican MN Gov Tim Pawlenty - you can bet Ed schmoozes, strokes and kisses Pawlenty's feet. Gives him all the airtime Pawlenty wants and treats him with repsect and honor.

Why does Ed treat a Republican party figure with honor and demean George McGovern and Howard Dean?

Call them Senator and Doctor (or Governor), will ya Ed? It really pisses me off.

He contradicts himself all the time and generally makes himself sound stupid. I always wind up cringing when a republican calls and Ed winds up making himself look like an uninformed hot head.

That said... I think he bases his show on winning over republicans that are teetering away from the dark side. If he wins over even 1 vote for the Dems he's ok by me.

29. Yes, he was. Bitched that he wasn't on a land line phone. Bitched
that he hadn't heard much from him for 6 months, which Dean responded that he had only been head of the DNC for 3 months.

Bitched that there wasn't an "audio" plan from the DNC. Dean said he would get that info to him.

I don't know if he means that the progressive talk hosts aren't getting the prep, info and talking points from the DNC that the RNC provides to all the RW talk hosts. This I think is a valid complaint (I certainly don't think most of them were).

A person had called in and said he wanted to be a "law and order liberal" because all he has heard is "tax and spend liberal". Schultz said "where did you get the tax and spend phrase? You heard it" and it stuck. That is what I he is talking about as an audio plan. We do need one of those.

35. Here's my email to his show
Just heard Ed Schultz's interview with Howard Dean. I couldn't believe my ears. Mr. Schultz was rude, unprofessional and everything the Democratic party is not. I cringed when he claimed to be the number one progressive voice in this country. I only listened today because I'm a huge Howard Dean fan. He sounded more like a whiny brat who's gigantic ego wasn't stroked by the DNC. I've been following where Dean's been making appearances since becaming the DNC chair. If Mr. Schultz paid the least amount of attention to his efforts, he would never have made the obnoxious statements he did about him wasting time. Mr. Schultz owes the progressive people and Howard Dean an apology for not representing us, people of tolerance and compassion, in a more reasonable light.

Then I emailed him this:

Hey Ed, I have something else for you to grill Howard about next time.
Remember they were going to do grass roots fundraising? How come tickets to hear Howard are going $250 for the cheap seats and $500 to meet the guy?
Hillary Clinton came to Minnesota, 'I would have loved to go" but it was over $100. If the Democrats want to reach middle America go for $20 a ticket. Here is a link to Deans' speech in Iowa I got from the DNC site. http://www.iowademocrats.org/hof/hof.html

I thought they learned in 2004 large amounts of small contributions work better then few large amounts.
