The following is a LTTE in our local Fargo Forum. How much you want to bet he still thinks Saddam personally flew both planes into the twin towers and Bu$h's plan for S/S is the best thing for the common man since shirt pockets. Oh, and dinos were in the Garden of Eden along with Adam & Eve.

There is one evil so prevalent that few, if any, preachers have mentioned, and that is: women dressed in men's apparel. It is an evil that is evident in women of all ages, shapes and sizes. Very seldom do you see a woman or a girl wearing a dress.

The word of God says in Deuteronomy 22:5, "The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment. For all that do so are abomination unto the Lord thy God."

Being an abomination to God carries the penalty of eternal hell fire. For we read in Revelation 21:8, "But the fearful and unbelieving and the abominal and murderers and whoremongers and sorcerers and idolators and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone."

Now I think all women should be told this, so they can give up this abominable practice so they will not lose their souls over it.

If that passage from Deuteronomy is valid, why not all the prohibitions in Leviticus, too?

Here's a short annotated list I found:

- Never eat shrimp, pork, or any number of other animals (Leviticus 11)

- Never have sex with a woman who is having her period (Leviticus 18:19).

- Never steal (Leviticus 19:11)

- Never work one day and get paid on another (Leviticus 19:13)

- Never plant two kinds of seed in the same field (Leviticus 19:19)

- Never wear clothes made with two kinds of cloth (Leviticus 19:19)

- Never eat meat cooked rare to medium-well (Leviticus 19:26)

- Never shave your sideburns or trim your beard (Leviticus 19:27)

- Never get a tattoo (Leviticus 19:28)

- Always worship and never work on Saturday (Leviticus 19:30)

- Always stand when someone older than you enters a room (Leviticus 19:32)

The good news is, perhaps, that you will be able to have more than one wife -- as long as you second wife is not a current wife�s sister (Leviticus 18:18).

Thank you for your informative letter. I would like to know if culottes are okay to wear, or if those are also an abomination to God. The reason I'm asking is because they look like a skirt, but they do have that strip of fabric between the legs, and I'm wondering if it's the suggestion of having something between my legs that makes it unacceptable.

Also, I understand what you are saying about some things being an evil that is evident in women of all ages, shapes and sizes. I don't know about age, but I do think culottes are unflattering to all shapes, so I think "abomination" might be an appropriate term.

Thanks in advance for any light you can shed on this important issue.

He's invoking the standards, the sermon that kept women in dresses until the 20s.

It's actually sort of refreshing to see an old school bully pulpit zealot slinging hell fire rather than the same cookie cutter evangelical with an over aged christian rock band to his right and the light up "rapture-o-meter" counting down to his left.

BTW- you're going to burn in hell for posting this. I'm an atheist so see ya there I guess.

and normally i just dont give a flying fuck about these loonies....but this one just gave me a good chuckly...always wanted to be seen as a ho...and since i wear pants...or less..usually a bathing suit...i think i have finially made it...what a good day this is for me.

I racked my brain but I really cannot remember my MOTHER cleaning toilet bowls in a dress, high heels, and pearls. She wore my Dad's work pants (he was very skinny). Oh, the HORROR of it all. I think the last time I wore a dress was to a wedding - 10 years ago.

Jeans, jeans, jeans. I am still a size 3 and will continue to wear my jeans, thank you, very much.

Less revealing: example, a skirt rising while bending over to pick something up is no longer a problem.

I know a male who is in theater and he uses the small panty liners to soak up sweat when he's wearing prosthetics. Especially at places like the Renaissance Faire. Panty liners are wonderful for keeping sweat out of your eyes when wearing plate mail helmets.

Dear Rev. Anundson,

Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God's Law. I have learned a great deal from you, and I try to share that knowledge with as many people as I can. When someone tries to defend the homosexual lifestyle, for example, I simply remind him that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination. End of debate.

I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some of the specific laws and how to best follow them.

a) When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord (Lev 1: 9). The problem is my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?

b) I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21: 7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?

c) I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness (Lev 15:19-24). The problem is, how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.

d) Lev. 25:44 states that I may indeed possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?

e) I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself?

f) A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an Abomination (Lev 11:10), it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this?

g) Lev 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle room here?

h) Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev 19:27. How should they die?

i) I know from Lev 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?

j) My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev 19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? (Lev 24:10-16) Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)

I know you have studied these things extensively, so I am confident you can help.

A woman I know, she's about 19, is not allowed, per her parents, to EVER wear pants, or tank tops, or tight shirts, etc. Only ankle-length skirts and long sleeved shirts for her, all year round.

37. Personally, I don't even own a pair of pants
because I am one of those women who look dreadful in them, not for religious reasons based on some moldy old text that's been translated, edited, retranslated and expurgated to death. No matter what style, no matter what cut, no matter how carefully tailored, they just don't flatter my body. So I'm uncomfortable in pants and very aware that they draw attention to those aspects of my body that I would rather not draw attention to. Been wearing skirts and dresses exclusively for about ten years now, and have never been happier and more comfortable with the way I look. I do everything in dresses and skirts, including housecleaning, gardening, and even horseback riding with the help of a pair of leggings. But that's just me, and I would never decide that anyone else should do what I do. I wear what I want to wear, not what the Bible, fashion or my husband tells me to wear.

I think the same should apply to women who are comfortable in pants. Lots of women look great in them, and it's obvious since so many women choose to wear them that they're happy wearing them.

These dipwads who spend their time worrying about what other people wear and claiming that this and that is an abomination really need to go and do something useful. The ones who bitch about women wearing bifurcated garments are the worst of all. People are dying, people are starving, there are all kinds of abuse and neglect going on in the world, and they're throwing a fit because some women prefer to wear pants?

Time for a reality check.

Oh, I forgot - religion isn't much on reality.

The use of the colon after he says "that is: women dressed in men's apparel" is completely wrong - there should be no punctuation there at all.

And the last sentence has too many "so"s in it.

Appalling.
