Frank Luntz shares thoughts on how to increase recruiting
http://www.twincities.com/mld/twincities/news/politics/11787172.htm

WASHINGTON - (KRT) - Frank Luntz, corporate communications consultant, political pollster and Republican campaign adviser, says the Army needs something like the Anheuser-Busch Super Bowl ad in which a group of troops walking through an airport are applauded by other airline passengers.

"I would make my focus and my message be one of respect and appreciation. There are no other jobs that Americans would appreciate as much as this one, and that appreciation would follow you throughout your whole life."

1. Recruitments could be increased by one
...if Frank Luntz would volunteer his fat ass. I don't think he's too old. Not too old for the Guard, is he?

12. Yep, I'd reenlist in a heartbeat
Someone will clap for me in an airport? Where do I sign?!

and will they be clapping before or after I've just been felt up by a security guard?

I remember wearing my dress uniform when I got out of basic training and was in the bus station on the way home. People kept asking me about the bus schedule (because I looked like I worked there). Maybe they could make that into a commercial, too.

15. Oh yeah - and if you come back to an airport named Dover
There will be no one there to photograph your flag draped coffin. And if you fly back to Andrews gravely wounded - they'll sneak in in the middle of the night.

5. Talk about being out of touch
with the mainstream.

Why is it that Luntz, the steaming bowl of Cream-of-Wheat puke, reminds me of Jared the sandwich queen?

Are those two little shits related?

10. they could use Pete Damon in a commercial
talk about being appreciated, this lucky guy got to throw out the first pitch at a real major-league baseball game!

<snip>

Notes:@ Pete Damon, a retired Army sergeant who lost both arms in an explosion in Iraq, threw out the first pitch using a prosthetic left arm.

17. Newsday interviewed
groups of teenagers from around Long Island. One kid they interviewed was from a poor, minority neighborhood. His quote summed up what they all said in the interview. "I would rather flip burgers for minimum wage, than die in a war I don't agree with."

19. What a stupid douchebag.
No ad campaign is going to convince young people that we are fighting for freedom in Iraq. Frank Luntz should sign his dumbass up but he is obviously too chickenshit.

with all due respect. People don't join the military now because they know they're going to die. Doy.
