That Was The Best Two Hours Of Television....
...I've seen in a long, long time.

Woodward, Bernstein, and Rather. If anyone wants to talk about the best obtainable version of the truth, you heard it from the best tonight.

Now those three made me proud to be an American. And I haven't felt that way since Bush took office.

4. Did they talk about the CURRENT scandals in the WH?
Or was it just a big old Watergate circle jerk?

13. The Idea Behind The Watergate Story....
...was to jump start the media back into the all but forgotten Watergate mode.

It was a healthy, breath of fresh air of when reporters were reporters.

Rather also did a fine job in stating the findings of Thornburg's investigation into CBS was "They could not tell if the documents were fake, or not. And two, the report was not done out of political or personal bias."

7. Rather Toned Down King's Word Of "Excited"
...and used "very interested". Seems Dan is going to Iraq and report from there.

9. Yep and he seemed
generally please with his current producer. I'm hoping that they go back to the days when 60 minutes was real investigative reporting.

6. I watched it
Thought it was great too. Dan Rather said that's there's not a day that goes by that he doesn't think about 9/11. I wonder if he believes LIHOP or MIHOP theory.

12. Agreed! We need more journalists who are backed up by
courageous editors and owners of news organizations/newpapers. But then we, sad to say, have far too many right wingers who want only their point of view presented and if it isn't, then the reporters are liberal and biased!

20. That Line Delivered By Rather Made Me Stand Up....
..in front of the television and applaud!

As I said, for the past two hours, the cumbersome weight of the Bush Presidency was lifted, and I once again felt like an American!

My God, the nightmare we've been living for the past five years. It makes me ill.

Good news! Congressman Conyers has already gotten 86,000 signatures on his letter to President Bush, and he's upped the target to 250,000! Also, 6 more Congress Critters have signed on.
