Jon Bon Jovi performs at WAL-MART annual meeting

Just saw it reported on CNBC-TV.

(Jessica Simpson was also there - not too many pimples, I hope.)

Only time I've ever seen Bon Jovi was in Pittsburgh at the KERRY rally in October '04.

Disgusting. What a sell out! Is he hurting for money or what?

For now on when his songs come on my radio - the channel changes.

17. I know out of work people (admittedly devoted union guys) who say Meijer's

prices can't be beat if there's a sale. It's just that no one bothers to do comparison shopping anymore, they just think Wal-Mart has the lowest prices and go there (even when former Wal-Mart Managers have admitted that their prices aren't cheapest on most items.)

JON BON JOVI made an appearance at this year's WAL MART shareholders gathering in Bentonville, Arkansas this morning (June 3.) It was not a widely announced appearance so most of those WalMart shareholders and employees in attendance got a surprise when JON performed at 9:00AM (CT) this morning! JON was joined by BOBBY BANDIERA (on guitar,) JEFF KAZEE (on keyboards) and LORENZA PONCE (on violin.) The four performed acoustic versions of LIVIN' ON A PRAYER, IT'S MY LIFE and The Beatles' classic HELP! They got into Arkansas last nite and already Jersey bound for home.

Wal Mart calls record label. "We sell a lot of your crap in our stores. Send some entertainment for our shareholder minions or maybe your next big name gets less than prime product placement." Record label sends Jon Bon Jovi, who, by contract has to go.

Or maybe Jon just doesn't get it and while Jon appreciates that Wal Mart gives lots of folks jobs, but doesn't see the flip side of the coin.

it's the GIVING the money back to wal-mart by shopping there that pisses me off.

and, really, his shopping habits are no big concern of mine. bigger fish to fry.

i hate wal-mart as much as the next person, but taking their money for entertaining just shareholders doesn't worry me. plastering his name and songs on their advertisements would.

it's like what moby said to his critics calling him a sellout. whether he takes their money or not is inconsequential, they'll find a way to get what they want anyway. it's the taking of their money and then using it against them that matters.
