Largo soldier dies in Iraq
LARGO - Pfc. Louis E. Niedermeier, 20, of Largo, died Wednesday in Ar Ramadi, Iraq, when his unit was conducting combat operations and he came under enemy small arms fire. His family was informed of his death Thursday night.

Niedermeier's family said during a press conference today that he was eager to enlist in the Army, just like his dad. He wanted to sign up after the Sept. 11 attacks, but he was only 17. After graduating from Pinellas Park High in 2003, he joined the Army and after a stint in Oklahoma, his unit was sent to Korea. He arrived in Iraq in June 2004.

The family will hold a memorial service at Largo Central Park on his birthday, June 15, at 11 a.m. Niedermeier will be buried in Arlington National Cemetery with full honors.

5. makes it real, doesn't it ???
you know, i'm sure that many who enlist and are sent to Iraq believe in the idea that they are doing a good thing ... i expect their families are often proud of their service to their country and their courage ... their intent is sincere and i commend them for it ...

but, the fact that they believe what bush tells them doesn't necessarily make it so ... Iraq is all propaganda and a big pack of lies ...

it's important for people to understand that we can admire the dedication of those who serve and we can appreciate the idea that they genuinely believe in the mission without agreeing that the mission is actually right ... each death is such a tragedy and their is no end in sight ... what a waste or a good human being ...

when will we start burying the peacemakers in Arlington National Cemetery?

Rest assured, though, that he is at peace. May we all find Peace in our hearts so that the world can find it, too.

11. That's the fact that jumped out at me.
So many of these brave young people responded to our country being attacked and were sent to the place that had nothing to do with it for a lie.

17. The 9-11 MIHOP claims another soul.
"He wanted to sign up after the Sept. 11 attacks..."

Bush is a murderer.
