It's my 1000 post

It took me almost 10 months to the day to get here but here I am.

I have thought about what I should post for this occasion many times, since I am not the best writer, I thought some plain old thank your's were in order.

Since I do have a moment I did want to say that I am grateful for DU and the wonderful people that contribute to our Democracy by participating on the best message board on these internets.

Skinner and the guys, what can I say, except a humble "THANKS" for your hard work and dedication to make DU run like a well oiled machine.

The Atheists group is the best forum in my opinion and a lifeline to me personally. You know who you are and I think you are all the best.

I would also like to take a little time out to thank all the people who spend their time at DU organizing, writing, participating and getting others motivated. Without your efforts this place wouldn't be the wonderful forum it is.

I am especially grateful to be able to converse with inspiring, intelligent individuals that are as concerned about the state of our country as I am. Everybody contributes here even when you feel that no one is listening or responding there are plenty of people reading and absorbing.

Finally, I wanted to thank everyone for the much needed laughter that we share here on a daily basis. The world feels like it is going to the dogs but I can always count on DUer's to make me giggle.

19. Good for you...it's been a year for me and I'm almost there

When I found DU it was like a weight had been lifted from my shoulders.

Even though some family, friends and co-workers shared my concerns, there was a superficial feel to their complaints.

I felt deeply wounded and frightened that the country just seemed to acquiesce to the insanity that passed for government.

Gelliebeans, you expressed yourself more eloquently than I can, but I completely agree with your post and sentiments.
