I missed the deal with Bev Harris! What happened?
Could someone tell me the story, short and sweet? I must have missed it somehow.

6. She solicited a lot of money to investigate the 2004 elections
Edited on Sat Jun-04-05 01:30 PM by Cleita
whereever there seemed to be irregularities. Even Randi Rhodes solicited for her over the air. When there seemed to be irregularities in Ohio that needed looking into, she became out of reach.

When finally reached after the fact she blubbered some nonsense on the air. Randi hung up on her and then a big food fight ensued on DU, which got her banned.

There's a lot, lot more, involving Dave Allan, Andy Stephenson and others whom she apparently scammed, but this would take a book to write.

This is how I saw it. Maybe others witnessed this differently.

7. I would reccomend using the advanced search function.
You can check out some of the REEEEALY long threads about her, and also check out some of her own posts. I think the admins posted a fairly detailed explanation at one point. There have also been numerous posts by people who have had personal dealings with her, who's identity can easily be acertained by reading some of the abovementioned threads.

8. it's an old story.
She started out with good intentions but got corrupted by cash ("settlements").

That's my analysis anyway.

10. I used to think that
but her pattern of abuse of others with whom she had worked closely, that time and time again cost real financial hardship to those individuals (and three or four come to mind off the top of my head) have long since changed my perceptions of "good intentions"....

14. I agree. This woman has some kind of psychological disorder.
My guess is she has narcissistic personality disorder mixed with a touch of the ol' histrionic personality disorder. Probably she's a sociopath, too. A lot of narcissists are.

12. It's like zillion of threads long
I don't fully understand everything that happened from start to finish.

But how about absolute power corrupts absolutely, money, greed and infighting.
Lack of credit to others and seeking all the glory for oneself.
Insane moments of paranoia, border line on psychotic.
A refusal comfortably give control and trust. The entire thing is a soap opera.

Something to do with a payoff from some company, and a movie but that's sort of where I loose interest in picking through the 1.000 + posts.

Everything that I have read from Bev or have seen, tends to lend itself to someone who has remarkable brilliance, yet borders on bi/polar behavior. Incredibly smart, articulate, but ultimately in need of some serious therapy.
I'm appreciate of all of the work she has invested, and the team of people who worked with her through the years, who most have been fired and slandered here on DU or BBV. Those who helped slam those end up being slammed themselves eventually.

She's done some amazing stuff, but her approach is a bit "in your face, like Jerry Springer with chairs." As it was this past election in FL. I think she has done amazing things for the cause with the team. I also think she and she alone have done harm that has set the movement back years.

But read for yourself, sure it will take you hours to weed through the threads!
