the Great Depression. I'm watching Bill Moyers speech from the "Take Back America" conference that was on CSPAN. You can view it at http://www.ourfuture.org/projects/national_conference/2005/index.cfm

This information was in a segment from Moyers that he showed during his speech. I definitley do believe this because of George Bush's policies. I'm personally fine because my dad has a nice job as a civil engineer at TVA and makes a nice salary but I know there are other people out there who are really hurting not just financially but emotionally and possibly physically as well. I do worry about our country as a whole and for other family members of mine such as my grandparents. Especially if Bush takes away Social Security. I just thought this was an amazing piece of information and wanted to share. If you haven't seen Moyers speech you should. It was very touching and beautiful.

I think that the people of this country need to be punished for what they did last November, and not voting is the same thing as voting for Bush. Why did 40% of the voters stay home?

I've heard that argument way too many times. That they're all "lazy" and that the economy is in a "recession" and George Bush is doing "just fine" and it's not his fault or anything like that. It really pisses me off how ignorant they are towards homeless people. Not all homeless people are lazy.

First of all they know it is true.

Second of all they know this strategy works for progressives.

Strategically this is our equivalent of gun control, abortion, gay marriage, lower taxes and fighting terrorism all rolled into one.

Just look at Bernie Sanders in Vermont--An open self-proclaimed democratic-socialist who wins staunchly Republican counties by landslide proportions--He appears on FOX News and get inundated with positive E-mails from self-discribed conservatives who like what he has to say.

6. The gap between rich and poor is greater here today than it was in India

many years ago. I remember being in grade school and the teacher explaining how great the gap between rich and poor was in India--people were sleeping in the streets, while Majarajahs were getting their weight in gold every year.

Now we have people sleeping in the streets all over THIS country, and no Indian Majarajah ever dreamed of the riches paid to CEOs. Worse, our education system is so bad that at the same time we're outsourcing jobs to India, we're importing technical people and scientists from India to fill important job slots here that would otherwise go unfilled.

Funny, I remember the disgust we felt towards those selfish faraway Majarajahs, greedily sucking up their country's wealth while ordinary people went homeless and hungry. And now I feel that same disgust towards the greedy CEOs here with their offshore tax havens. I guess they won't want to pay taxes here because then we might have better schools and they'd have to hire us instead of hiring people in India.

Well, if Bill Moyers has the equivalent of Ghandi's salt march up his sleeve, count me in.
