Common Ground on the War....
David Horsey, the great cartoonist/commentator in the Seattle P-I, has a "Burning Question" every Saturday. He invites reader commentary about issues.

This week the Burning Question is "Is there a way to support the troops and still oppose the war."

I think he's just shopping for outrage from both sides, but he usually is on "our side".

snip:

"To Maury, all the loud rhetoric about supporting the troops seems a convenient way to silence demands for plain honesty, both at the policy level and at ground level where sons and daughters in uniform are dying and being maimed by the thousands...."

DU'ers might want to send Horsey their views at:

1. My email:
The only way to support the troops is to oppose this war. This is a war based on lies, and those in denial are doing so at the peril of our troops. As a military brat and daughter of a Vietnam Veteran, I know a thing or two about supporting the military. The horrible situation we are putting our troops in isn't "supporting them" it's blind patriotism and pure ideology that is placed above good common sense and true accountability. It saddens me to see the shambles this country is falling into because of the absolute hypocrisy of our "leaders" and their senseless "followers" against the pure evidence and reason put forth by half of this country and the rest of the world.
