6. I bombed on the transportation questions
We have a really poor public transportation system where I live so I am dependent on a car.

5. vegans rule!!!!!!!!!
Edited on Sun Jun-05-05 09:02 PM by expatriot
If you eat almost all prepackaged, processed foods

Vegans need 2.7 acres to sustain themselves,
people who eat meat, eggs and dairy almost every meal: 6.9 acres

FOOD 2.5
MOBILITY 0.7
SHELTER 3.2
GOODS/SERVICES 2.7
TOTAL FOOTPRINT 8.7

IF EVERYONE LIVED LIKE YOU, WE WOULD NEED 1.6 PLANETS.

I am sure it is more than this, DU sucking up all this electricity but I am fortunate enough to ride my bicycle to work...

:headbang:

Somebody asked the rhetorical question once: How can you be an environmentalist and still eat meat?

IN COMPARISON, THE AVERAGE ECOLOGICAL FOOTPRINT IN YOUR COUNTRY IS 24 ACRES PER PERSON.

WORLDWIDE, THERE EXIST 4.5 BIOLOGICALLY PRODUCTIVE ACRES PER PERSON.

IF EVERYONE LIVED LIKE YOU, WE WOULD NEED 3.9 PLANETS.

9. It seems to be based on some pretty bogus assumptions
based upon nothing more than the quesions and choices for answers, it provides a bogus conclusion, IMO.

12. What measures require only 1 planet?
This is like something I've asked about for years. What specifically is the extent of the problem. What specifically is needed in order to recover from disaster? Without this, it's just people battling over generalities.

I'm sending them the question:

If the measures taken would require more than 1 planet, then the measures are pointless to follow.

What answers result in only 1 planet being required?

In order to need only 1 planet, do people have to have no car, no electricity, live in a house with 7 or more people, consume only locally produced products? If so, isn't this not possible to happen?

13. One of the possible answers for what kind of building you live in...
was a free-standing structure without running water. Who the hell has an internet connection but no running water?!
