Stripes letter: Fewer visits, more help (for the troops)
**Who did the Stripes editors removed from this letter (see brackets)?

Fewer visits, more help

I just wanted to voice my opinion on our mighty government and how they are treating our troops. I think that it is pretty sad that want to waste taxpapers’ money to make a trip to Iraq for a few minutes and shake some general’s hand or slice a turkey. Give me a break.

They want to know how to support the troops? Give them the supplies they need, so we don’t have to send it from home to them. I think since troops are putting their lives on the line for our country that our country ought to have the medical supplies and things they need in Iraq.

My son has been in Iraq since June 2004 and was diagnosed as a diabetic after returning from a leave home. I had to send him a glucometer and test strips and lancets. Does that sound like troops are being supported?

2. At least the editors appeared to be non-partisan
though who knows what pejorative was used for "Bush." I can think of several off the top of my head.

7. Who is losing sleep?

Bush nixes torture
Vows U.S. will not use it to grill terror suspects

snip>

The good news? "I'm sleeping pretty good ... There's times when I hadn't been. I've got peace of mind."
