If the meek shall inherit the Earth,
will it be in a condition that's viable?

and when will it happen? The corporate 'bottom line' pigs are hardly meek.

1. In the `70s...
... that phrase went, "the meek shall inherit the earth, but the rich shall retain the mineral rights." :)

That says it all these days....

2. The bible is not Jesus Christ's or God's word
It is a propaganda document produced by the mideaval catholic church
to keep the dark ages peasants from uprising and demanding rights.
It is a document designed to repress and to get people to sell out
justice for a coming saviour. Surely you know this already, but its
worth remembering the history of original propaganda.

6. Thats a broad stroke
with which you paint a picure of the Bible as a book void of all good.

Speculation, presented as fact. A bit of propaganda of your own, isn't it?

10. Where did i say it was void of all good?
I merely point out the fact that it was carefully edited to offer a
religion of repression. That it, and its associated religions have gone
on in the subsequent years to Jesus to murder hundreds of millions of
people as an extremely war-like religious ideology has hardly offered
contrary evidence.

There are nice quotes in there, and i would recommend the bible to any
propagandist who wants to see how the pro's do long-term repression.
As well, it is an important work of fiction for any persons wishing to
learn about the basis of western literature.

11. This is pretty funny
"Where did i say it was void of all good? I merely point out the fact that it was carefully edited to offer a religion of repression."

That was rich. :)

Might as well say

"Where did i say shit was void of all good? I merely point out the fact that it is carefully digested food stuffs that have become a vile, stinking pile of crap."

I think you're a bit biased against the book. Just my impression.

On the other hand, I am biased in favor of the Bible (though I recognize that it has been selectively assembled).

I would recommend a red-letter version of the New Testament to anyone interested in learning about a philosophy that claims that the way to inner-peace lies through love, understanding, and compassion. Christianity is one of the high points of human society.

Unfortunately, few if any practice the philosophy. I'm sure that's due in part to the fact that so few take the time to actually read the instruction manual--with an open mind.

3. Typical...
while the Republicans all go to heaven after raping the earth, it's people and worshiping the almighty dollar for centuries, the "meek" will be left behind to clean up the Slugs mess. Again.
I thought the meek would get a shot at heaven too? Lord knows they've suffered enough here on earth, but it's as if the Pukes wrote the bible or something. Now the "meek" get shit on even after the "rapture", cleaning up the shit house the Pukes have made of the earth. What gives?

7. There's a song in the musical "Camelot"
where a character (Mordred) sings,

"It's not the earth the meek inherit, it's the dirt."

It gets very discouraging.. The last 2 1/2 decades, seems like the a*holes are always winning. We know from the 60's and 70's that it doesn't have to be that way.
