Kerry's Yale grades and military records being released same day?
Anyone find this kind of curious? The Yale one being no so flattering, while the Military record one debunks the swifties. So the question is why this, and why now? Obviously the election is "over", so do these articles represent other motives?

Kerry, Bush had similar grades at Yale

WASHINGTON - During last year's presidential campaign, John F. Kerry was the candidate often portrayed as intellectual and complex, while George W. Bush was the populist who mangled his sentences.

But newly released records show that Bush and Kerry had a virtually identical grade average at Yale University four decades ago.

Kerry allows Navy release of military, medical records
Show numerous commendations
By Michael Kranish, Globe Staff | June 7, 2005

WASHINGTON -- Senator John F. Kerry, ending at least two years of refusal, has waived privacy restrictions and authorized the release of his full military and medical records.

The records, which the Navy Personnel Command provided to the Globe, are mostly a duplication of what Kerry released during his 2004 campaign for president, including numerous commendations from commanding officers who later criticized Kerry's Vietnam service.

1. The grades were part of the military record, as part of the Navy
application process.

2. Logical step
Kerry is about to make the most important political speech of his life. By placing his records into the public domain, he takes away from the wingnut spinners the ability to "challange" and distract.

8. Did he authorise the release, or did Bushists pressure someone
to release them? The Yale grades suck. Seems like a fuckup to me if Kerry wanted people to take his DSM message seriously. It seems more a plan to remind people of the interminable election in which Kerry said nothing that distinguished himself very clearly from Bush. The releases have Rove all over them.

"But newly released records show that Bush and Kerry had a virtually identical grade average at Yale University four decades ago."

5. This should help in 2008...
He wants to run again but hes going to need to remove every perceived obstacle to win the nomination again. America in 2008 is likely to be far different then the one that gave other politicians so many chances previously in major elections.

I feel very close to Kerry after all the work I did for him and his campaign so I would be proud to work for him again. My only qualms are that he didn't run a very hard hitting campaign and then bowed out way too soon IMO.

If he can establish a real pitbull team for 2008 I would feel much better about his chances. The Clinton moderates killed us last time.

7. That would be nice...
Although I wonder if he worries about him coming off petty by doing that.

Personally releasing records that shows commendations FROM the Swifties is going to help either way.

He just needs to attack non-stop next time around to prevent anything like this from happening in 2008.

10. Even with low college grades...
The best thing to preserve his mental superiority over Bush is avoiding heavy drug use. Bush is still a brain dead idiot compared to Kerry.

the last election

It just goes to show how the brilliant strategy used by our Democratic leaders is still being implemented today.

BTW.

Tell Edwards he can kiss my as for criticizing Dean. Maybe it would be a good thing if more Democrats were outraged and spoke their minds. Dolts like him believe that the absence of resistance and criticism is the proof of it.

15. Gee, the article on USAToday...
sure did seem to emphasize that Kerry's and Bush**'s grades were identical, but didn't say anything about Kerry's records debunking the swift boat liars. Hmmm...

18. Both had grades adequate for law school admission...

19. The fact is that Kerry finished Yale with an 81 average, a B.
Bush finished with a C. Bush stagnated. Kerry improved. While Bush continued down the same path to mediocrity, Kerry improved constantly and across the board.
