The part about Republicans being basically white Christians is true. I used to be a Republican, and if you don't walk lockstep with the Christian Right, you are wrong. If you don't believe what is their version of the truth, and don't act "normal" in their eyes, you will be viewed upon with suspicion at best, and at worst open hostility and anger. I've been on the receiving end of a ton of grief at work and with some members of my family because of my "fall from grace", lol.
It's about time someone with this much candor calls it like it is and lets the chips fall where they may. Unfortunately, with the way the media is these days, Dean will get blasted, fellow Democrats will abandon him lest they get "McCain'd", and Bush and the Republicans will try and continue to steamroll their opposition through fear and intimidation.
You go, Howard.
