fortunately for sick folks AND stoners, Pot is Easier than ever to get
and very cheap in some circles in the midwest.

on a recent trip to san francisco, i obtained medical marijuana for $85 for 1/8 of an ounce. in the midwest, it's going for $50 an ounce, and very similar in strength.

and i've heard of many cases where someone will break the law and go out and buy it the old fashioned way, from your nieghbors. it's certainly not hard to find, if you have the price.

in fact, i've never seen so much of it going around in my life, and every type and class of american is smoking it, if they admit it or not. so if a person who needs it for medicinal purposes can simply find some stoner, FUCK the big pharmaceutical companies and FUCK the supreme court.

only problem is, they can arrest you for it. even if you're a sick little old lady.

assholes.

19. not really a fair comparison
to anybody who knows how the market works. there's a big difference in price when buying the QP vs. an eighth, dealers that sell QP's will not deal with the hassle/traffic of small quantities. and the SF medicinal MJ is probably either organic or hydroponic, or both, and of consistant quality, from specific genetics to target the particular patients illness, while the midwest pot may be good and potent, is it always the same? that's a risk medicinal users can't take. many other factors, like the real estate the SF buyers club has to pay for vs much lower overhead in the midwest. you're comparing buying a 55 gallon drum of oil, to a quart.

but i'm glad you got a good hookup!:smoke:

3. Wow...
$50 an OUNCE??? No such luck here in NYC... compared to midwest prices you'd swear the drug companies were dealing here... a little less than a quarter ounce goes for about $100... in some circles $50 will get you about three gumball sized nuggies...

Wouldn't it be nice if it were legalized and regulated. No worries about quality or quantity?

I must admit.... the heads I hang with are serious connoisseurs. Once you get a taste of the good bud, it's hard to go back...

Seattle and San Diego had comparable product for less $$$, but I haven't been out there for a few years.

Always on the look out for better sources here in NYC.

7. Much has bee made about the comparison of
medicinal marijuana and oxycontin. And how the Pharmaceutical Industrial Complex would react. But I think a better comparison is Marijuana (in any form) and Viagra (or the boner supplement of your choice). I really think this is the message we should be sending back to the corporate media whores. And I think they would swallow it whole (pardon the pun).

12. You can easily grow it in a closet.
Edited on Wed Jun-08-05 09:52 AM by benburch
Many people do. I know some medical marijuana activists who have set up sick people or their families with small closet growing systems. Not enough to ever sell, but enough for the critical medical use they intend to address. And that's how it should be.

In Illinois there is a form of decriminalization; Less than five plants is a misdemeanor. And I think all states should at LEAST adopt that standard as a means of not jailing sick people!!!

16. Do you think the obstacle is that it is smoked?
What if they put the dope in pill or liquid form? Wouldn't that make it easier for the naysayers to swallow? Also, it would be healthier for the people taking the dope.

17. Does not need to be smoked.
A vaporizer that heats the plant material to the vapor point of the active oils without burning the plant (no smoke) is the preferred method now, I understand.

20. The point is being missed
When did a pot smoker deliberately ever hurt anybody? It has never happened in the history of this UGLY world. You could substitute any slice of any cross section of society other than a pot smoker and they have done serious damage. The end result is we have a substance that is illegal. @Which, were it legal would heighten everyone's self of existence.

For instance, lets suppose if while waiting in line to a restaraunt with prohibitive seating. You were supplied a complimentary hooter for your party. You would be much more likely for dessert with an appertif dont you think?

Contrast, the irriated employee (and really this is a term that is prevalent in all aspectsd of our society) who must paste on their best revlon smile because they know someone much more evil than michael Jackson will be aiting in their bed. Not that its new. But the Perverts are RUNNING the ASSYLUM.

23. This whole issue is about the right to medical choice to manage
one's pain. It's no one else's right to interfere or interject their biased fears into the lives of people they do not know. If you don't experience the pain, you cannot speak to how one who is in pain should manage their pain. Period.

Time for all of us to bombard our congressmen with correspondence to support legalizing medical MJ--and to remind them that less governmental interference in the private lives of citizens is just as equal to the concept of state's rights.

28. Why are stoners holding back international metricifation?
pot like other drugs are part of a large international market. English unit weight and volume measurements are totally ludicrous.

Do Canadians and Europeans buck their logical measurement system and also measure weed in ounces?

Metric by 1980, I don't think so!

there is nothing progressive about non-metric units. Since the drug culture is an important part of the left, they should spearhead the United States' conversion to metric.

40. Gotta throw my lot in with the
85 an 1/8th is way too much folks. I have a friend that grows the best shit. All Cannabis Cup winners, and he charges $100 a quarter. I travel alot and thats about the going rate in most places. Personally I can't afford the kind bud, but your average Mexican pot is going for $50 an oz in Colorado. Affordable and decent. As far as the potency being 10 times what it was in the 70's well, that remains to be seen. I agree that the pot is better these days, but it all depends on what you are comparing it to. The best pot I ever smoked was in the 80's, there was a bunch of this stuff in Florida, it was almost black in color and had these big white chunks in it. The guy who was moving it called it Polka but I called it Dandruff... It was $40 a z and I have never had any pot that even came close to it. I think it came from Columbia.
As far as the Supreme Court decision, well, it's about the stupidest thing I ever heard of. I saw the current "drug czar" on TV claiming that this decision was going to save lives. :wtf: In my 28 years as a pot smoker I can come up with one guy who died from smoking pot, and that was because some genius had the idea to spray Mexican pot fields with the pesticide Paraquat. This poor dude fired up a J after work one night and poisoned himself.. After that incident they stopped spraying fields...
