A first on MTV's Real World: One of the roommates is an Iraq War Vet

Yes, I'm still a fan of this show, having watched it back when I was a 20-something kid who wanted to be in the cast. This year the Real World is in Austin and the unique twist is a 21yo gal who has already done a year stint over in Iraq.

It'll be interesting to see how this pans out. In the preview show, the girl came across as very pro-war and even stated she couldn't day a man who has enlisted in the military. But with the growing anti-war sentiment across the country, including very liberal Austin TX, it'll be interesting to see how she fits in and how others will accept her attitude about war.

2. I actually caught that flipping through yesterday.
But...

...and even stated she couldn't day a man who has enlisted in the military.

I'm not sure if you meant that, but she actually said she has a hard time respecting any man who hasn't been in the military.

Obviously, the casting directors were licking their chops when they casted her, knowing the kind of drama she is certain to produce.

3. hmm?
"... and even stated she couldn't day a man who has enlisted in the military."

I don't know what you meant :D but I thought she couldn't date any man that hadn't enlisted in the military or didn't respect any man that hadn't. Something like that. Maybe I heard wrong.

6. See Tafiti's posts - I was incorrect
my memory isn't what it use to be. She couldn't respect any man who hasn't enlisted but she is also dating someone from Iraq

4. Please keep us posted.
I don't have cable. Not sure if I would be able to make myself watch it even if I did.

8. Do you remember "Puck" from the first series?
The original and still the best. Watching the strutting antics of that colossal shithead was what defined reality TV.

9. Ah MTV
I wasn't even aware it was still in existance. Thank you god for allowing technology to eliminate annoying TV channels.
