Why are comments Howard Dean made so harmful?
Especially when some Senators were practically giving the OK to murder judges. Personally, I do not feel Howard Dean said anything wrong. The re-thugs have been spitting harsh rhetoric, what seems to be, since the beginning of time.

<<Snip>>

Dean told a forum of journalists and minority leaders Monday that Republicans are "not very friendly to different kinds of people, they are a pretty monolithic party ... it's pretty much a white, Christian party."

<<Snip>>

The former Vermont governor also recently raised eyebrows when he told a group of progressives that Republicans "never made an honest living in their lives," a comment he was forced to explain a day later. The one-time presidential candidate also said that House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, R-Texas, who has not been accused of any crime, ought to go back to Houston where he can serve his jail sentence.

2. Because they piss off the white corporate assholes who wear their
religion on their sleeves while raping the environment, committing fraud and undermining the rights of all of us, and outsourcing to third world countries.

8. It is strange how huge Christians they are.
But, unlike Jesus, they will not help the poor. It is all about the Bottom Line with them.

3. Edwards explained his remarks on his website; of course that
got no play in the paper. Joe Biden is trying to run for president; he is doing it in a very odd manner. Let's support Dean and insist the rest of the party do also. After that swift boat smear of a true American hero, it is pretty clear to me that the pugs will do anything.

4. Because the are trying to discredit us with stupid shit like this
instead of actually trying to discredit our issues. They push for impeachment because Clinton got a BJ but when we push for impeachment because Bush broke international law we are a bunch of whackos. Our job is to wake the American people up and make them realize this; I think Dean can do this.

6. It's Part Of The Game...Bite It And They Gotcha
The corporate media loves to play a double standard...when a Repugnican calls a Democrat or Progressive a "librul", it's a name that the corporate media has now intepreted to be bad and evil. Thus it's assumed we're "athiests, commies, fascists" and all sorts of bile names. Just pop on hate radio and you'll get the entire dictionary by listening to a Michael Savage or Neil Boortz. There's no holding back...it's pure bile and it's applauded by its horde as being not only truth but "strength".

The other side is when a Democrat dares to attack a Repugnican. It can be for having their shoelaces untied...the corporate media and hate radio will go on the attack in distorting and exagerating the remarks to turn it into some vile attack on not only the individual, but the nation on the whole. They've got this drill down good...they practiced on Hillary for a decade and now are directing that same scrutiny to Dr. Dean.

Using Dean as a punching bag is a distraction the GOOP needs to keep their hive from rumbling about such issues as immigration or the invasion...issues that are starting to really divide them. A good round of hate and a visible target is what they crave. But the, there are those on our side (and I will not deny I'm not one of them), who also really appreciate and applaud what Dr. Dean says and knows what he really means.

There's a PR axiom that says "say good, say bad, just say"...I hope Dr. Dean continues to speak his mind and let others decide for themselves if this is their message or not. If not, the time is now to bail...since the time to set the agenda and landscape for 2006 is starting now.

9. They're not harmful -- they got press coverage!
Even as an independent, I get disgusted at the whining, carping partisans. When the press doesn't report on the nuanced and fuzzy pronouncements of the politicians, all I hear is carping about how the politicians aren't taking a stance. When Dean hits the Reichbots over the head with verbal baseball bats, I hear about how he should tone it down to the point that the press doesn't cover it.

Well, that's fucking nonsense! Every time the media whores ask him whether he regrets his remarks, he gets yet another opportunity to clobber the fascists. Keep it up, Howie!

Anyone who thinks he'd get a second of press coverage if he "toned it down" can just crawl back into their ___ hole.

12. True,
And if he did say something that sounds like he is toning it down, not only would he not be true to himself and supports but, I am sure the media would label him as some kind of flip-flopper.

10. They aren't harmful. The turncoat responses...and the MSM
lies/misrepresentations about the non-turncoat responses are what are harmful.

Dean is doing just fine. We need to be brave enough to get into a fistfight over some of these things...Dean's willing to speak openly and from the heart...a thing that a lot of people feared the Dems had become incapable of.

If the press were to report his words with 1/2 the care and massaging that they give Bush's Bushisms...Dean would come acrossed like Gandhi.
