Thank you, Solly Mack, for writing it.
It was very thought-provoking, and very truthful, AND very illustrative of the conditions over in Iraq and the circumstances surrounding the war.
I have always been against this action - because it was not necessary to put the USA's kids (AND Iraqi citizens) in danger over there. At law school, I learned that you never invade a sovereign nature (1) unless there is IMMINENT danger of deadly attack on this country, an ally or an ally's citizens, or on American citizens abroad. You must be responding to imminent deadly force. Preemptive attack is never O.K. with me.
I grieve daily for the parents who have lost their children, and for the children who have lost their parents.
It just was so ILLEGAL and so UNNECESSARY.
The best things I read on DU are personal experiences described from the heart.
Thanks again for describing your personal experience. You two (you and your husband) really have your heads together.
Peace and Blessings,
