Dean was right
So, what's the deal? The GOP isn't "pretty much a white, Christian party"? Really? How was Dean wrong again?

1. He should have added MALE
since the repubs seem to want to take away women's rights.

2. If that's true, then they're supported by their female counterparts....
...who, IMHO, are far worse than the GOP males.

6. You got that right
I remember during the election seeing women with infants on the side of busy city streets with sights that said "Help Re-elect W to protect my 3 month old". What a bunch of brainwashed idiots. Maybe she heard the terra alert was raised.

4. Not when Chimpy gets 55% of the white female vote.
Dean's statement was dead on. Yes, it's not fair, because the implication is that members of other groups are not welcomed by Reeps.

We're done playing fair, aren't we?

5. Actually
He's not wrong at all. The real problem is that, while Rethugs are good at slinging mud, they can't handle it too well when the shoe is on the other foot. Screw them. If they can't take the heat, they can keep their asses outta the kitchen.

7. Here is my question: Is being a white Christian a bad thing?
That's my problem with the statement.

I'm a white Christian and a Democrat. And I don't like the implication that somehow being a white Christian is a problem.

The issue is that Republicans are forcing a narrow, Christian fundamentalist agenda on all of us. But Dean is often more interested in headlines than accuracy, it seems.

9. Read Dean's whole statement
He said just what you said in your second to last sentence.

The MSM is quoting him out of context.

13. I hope you don't fall for all the right-wing out of context
spew, like you did this one...Part of Dean's job is grabbing headlines, but before you let the right wing make you offended at anything said by any Democrat/Progressive from their talking points, read the whole quote, then make up your mind rather to be offended or not...He was referring to the fact that Dem's with jobs and kids having to stand for 8+ hours to vote, while in the rich, white, christen, repuge areas - where most of the people in those neighborhoods never worked a day in their lives, there where more machines than needed and they could just breeze right through....He was right...

15. Actaully, Dean's job is not to grab headlines
He is an administrator mostly.

He needs to remember that and stop this endless campaign.

19. So let me ask this
Dean shouldn't be able to a) tell what he feels and b) tell the truth? Are you denying that the GOP is mostly white and people who proclaim the Christian faith? Have you ever seen an RNC convention? Compare that to a DNC convention. Look at what Bush has done in his time in office. That shows you as well the GOP priorities. Bush is running as a republican (even though he's a neocon Nazi) and has to cater to them to stay in power. What Dean says is true and like someone else said: if the republicans can't fight fire with fire they need to put themselves out. They've done bullying for far too long and I for one am sick of it. Do you think it's fair when a rightwinger calls me an anti-American and challenges my beliefs and claim I'm not a Christian because I support LGBT rights? Is that fair? Are they stopping their endless campaigning? Hell no.

21. The Deal? He's Addressing The Elephant In The Room
From page 8 of the Texas Republican Party Platform:

"The Republican Party of Texas affirms the United States of America is a Christian Nation ..."

and what Laura Ingraham said the other day:

INGRAHAM: Well, I think it's interesting that people like Zuckerman would be saying this now, coming off of an election where President Bush was elected with middle-class support, Bill , from about $23,000 to about $50,000 bracket for annual salary. Bush won by six points in all Americans and 22 points in white middle-class voters. So the Republicans are clearly connecting with the regular people, where the Democrats aren't.

Face it, the truth is like acid to these wingnuts.

22. You know what I love about Dean?
When the media goes after him about statements such as this, he looks 'em in the eye and says, "Yeah, that's what I meant to say. That's the way it is." Add 2 more to the Democratic cajones count.
