Amazing show of support for the troops
I love Denzel Washington. Probably my favorite actor of all time--pretty darn sexy too.
I couldn't tell you if he was left or right, although I would love to believe he was "one of us" since the "Right" hates Hollywood.
I have to give kudos though.

Washington gave one of the biggest donations ever made to Fisher House Foundation Inc., which operates guest facilities for families with loved ones recuperating in military hospitals, an official at the nonprofit said Wednesday.

"While we do not disclose the amount of a donation without approval from the donor, we can acknowledge that it is one of the most significant received in our history," Weiskopf said.

The actor's involvement with Fisher House resulted from a stop six months ago at Brooke Army Medical Center, where many troops who served in Iraq and Afghanistan have been treated for injuries.

During the December visit, after learning Fisher House provides inexpensive lodging and other support for recuperating soldiers' families, Washington vowed to help the organization.

3. Read closer
The fact that he whipped out his checkbook on the spot and purchased a building was fake.
However--I researched before I posted--he was a significant contributor.

4.  opps, should have
read closer but chose not to spend the time.

The mail I had in my inbox says
that he paid for the ENTIRE building.

I don't see the URL for the link that says
he paid nothing. Don't think I will waste any
more time on this unless I have truly free time
later.

I remember reading the publicity when Sandra Bullock
sent a check for 1 million to NY after Sept 11th but
do not recall reading anyting about Denzel Washington.

I wonder why that is? What's with Inside Edition
National Enquirer headlines?
