Crime and Punishment.
I believe that the torrent of words unleashed by Bush and Blair on the need to aid Africa can be seen as a sort of a mea culpa for the crimes they have committed in Iraq.In this, Blair may be the more sincere one of the two.He seems to have a sense of right and wrong and it shows in the pain etched on his face>bush, oblivious as ever to other people's pain, whether in war or peace,is just going along for the ride grabbing desperately to Blair's coattails hoping some of the Briton's goodness will rub off on him.

Dostoevsky's dictum that only extreme sinners carry within them the sees of redemption may apply only to Blair.Bush is beyond redemption, IMO.
