If WAR as truly the "last option" why'd BUSH kick out Weapons Inspectors?
Edited on Wed Jun-08-05 07:21 PM by mzmolly
Why? Because he didn't like preliminary INTELLIGENCE that Saddam was FREE of WMD's that could threaten the US.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/usatoday/20050608/pl_usatoday/downingstreetmemogetsfreshattention

DSM claim: "Intelligence and facts were being fixed" by the Bush administration "around" a policy that saw military action "as inevitable," the newspaper quoted from the memo.

"There's nothing farther from the truth," Bush told reporters as Blair stood at his side. "Both of us didn't want to use our military," Bush said in response to a question about the memo. was our last option."

Blair added, "The facts were not being 'fixed' in any shape or form at all."

Bush said that at the time the memo was written, no decision had been made about going to war. He pointed out that it was written two months before he went to the United Nations and asked for a Security Council resolution calling on Saddam Hussein to give up his weapons of mass destruction or face "serious consequences."

http://www.usatoday.com/news/world/iraq/2003-03-17-inspectors-iraq_x.htm

In the clearest sign yet that war with Iraq is imminent, the United States has advised U.N. weapons inspectors to begin pulling out of Baghdad, the U.N. nuclear agency chief said Monday. ~ 3-17-2003, aprox 2/3 months before final inspections were to be completed.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist. Bush wanted WAR. Democrats (including most of those who authorized the man child's blood bath) wanted to continue inspections so that war was truly "our last option."

5. well
At first he fought against them to begin with. The the white house said repeatedly they would not believe the weapon inspectors no matter what the inspectors said. I mean don't average Americans ever actually read or listen to what the Republicans say. I mean they made it clear that they were only going along with weapons inspectors because they had to. (in this case apparently to help their allies save face and to later give the false impression on Americans that we tried to avoid war). The weapon instpection were a show and I remember the white house press releases clearly made that point to me.

7. And what would your point be ?
Americans supported a faux inspections process?

Perhaps I'm not understanding what your trying to say?

Today he claims war was a "last resort" clearly his actions indicate he's full of shit.

22. Yes
Americans supported a faux inspections process.

The point is the weapons inspections were a show. A joke. I mean they said they would not believe the findings. We did the country and the press spend countless hours on weapons inspection that our own government made clear would not be satisfactory in preventing war. I mean IT WAS SO FREAKING CLEAR WE WERE GOING TO INVADE THIS COUNTRY NOT MATTER WHAT. I can't for the life of me understand how some Americans are just waking up to the fact. I can't understand why no front line press doesn't call them on this stuff. Who cares what they say because it's so clear they lie without any thought.

10. It was NEVER the last option. Richard Clarke, Paul O'Neal both confirmed..
Iraq was on the agenda from day 1.

9/11 opened the door wide open for them to lie and make a "connection"

It's really pathetic that the USA Today couldn't put those stories together and compile it's own conclusive article despite the fact the info was individually published in its own fucking paper!!
